Those people who were quick to write to Trump about farm murders need to be just as quick to write about the increase in petrol and diesel prices due to the unnecessary war with Iran. Real farmers will be struggling with this price increase.

The price of diesel is up by R6.19, thanks to AfriForum and the DAโ€™s best friend, Trump. Why isnโ€™t AfriForum writing to Trump to ask him to stop the unnecessary war with Iran.

Dear Corporate South Africa We really truly & honestly cannot afford to drive to your overpriced offices daily to sit on Teams all day on laptops we brought from home. Nothing else from my side. And I know you can see my screen. Sincerely, South Africans

The debate on illegal immigration in South Africa has been clouded by politics of denial where raising legitimate governance concerns is dismissed, rather than addressed. In this opinion piece, I unpack how the failure to confront illegal immigration honestly is placing unsustainable pressure on local government, distorting public discourse, and ultimately failing South Africans actionsa.org.za/illegal-immigrโ€ฆ Yes, immigration policy, things like border control, documentation, and deportation sits firmly with national government. Municipalities do not decide who enters the country or who stays. ย  But governance does not work in neat boxes and neither do the consequences when things go wrong.

I donโ€™t know what can be done about the poor driving of scholar transport drivers. This morning, an Avanza ran a red light and nearly hit one of the recycling guys. Mind you, it was a scholar transport Avanza with children inside. They donโ€™t value the lives of those children!

To our loving neighbours, Batswana, you hosted an outstanding, world-class event today. On behalf of all South Africans, we warmly congratulate you on this success. This is what it means to invest in your own country and its infrastructure.

The sad reality is that EFF people wanted Mazwi to be found dead, as that would show he was truly kidnapped. Their minds canโ€™t process that someone can be kidnapped and found alive.

My mom is employed today at @JOSHCO as a Cleaner because Herman Mashaba fought for them to be insourced back when he was still the major of Johannesburg. I remember one time when she didnโ€™t have R1 to add on for us to buy bread before she got employed. Iโ€™ll forever be grateful๐Ÿ’š

Herman Mashaba insourced over 4000 security guards in the City of Joburg, providing them with the dignity of a real job. Some parties claim to fight for workers, ActionSA just does it.

With standard home loans, your monthly bond payment is split into two portions: 1๏ธโƒฃPrincipal 2๏ธโƒฃInterest For example, on a R1 million home loan at 10% over 20 years, your monthly payment would be R9,650, which is split like this: 1๏ธโƒฃPrincipal = R1,316.88 2๏ธโƒฃInterest = R8,333.33 ๐—ข๐˜‚๐˜๐˜€๐˜๐—ฎ๐—ป๐—ฑ๐—ถ๐—ป๐—ด ๐—ฎ๐—บ๐—ผ๐˜‚๐—ป๐˜ = ๐—ฅ๐Ÿต๐Ÿต๐Ÿด,๐Ÿฒ๐Ÿด๐Ÿฏ โ€”โ€”โ€” However, with the deferred principal strategy that FNB is using, it means you only have to pay the 2๏ธโƒฃ interest portion on your home loan every month for 24 months. (R8,333) That means your monthly payment falls from R9,650 โ€”โ€”>R8,333, increasing your cashflow. For this privilege of keeping your debt the same, you save R1,317 month (R15,804 a year). โ€”โ€”โ€” *After the two year โ€œgrace periodโ€ your 20 year home loan is compressed into 18 years and the loan reverts back to a standard home loan. Now you have a R1 million home loan at 10% (Or whatever the prevailing rate is) over 18 years. So the breakdown would now be: Monthly = R9,998 1๏ธโƒฃPrincipal = R1,665.10 2๏ธโƒฃInterest = R8,333.33 ๐—ข๐˜‚๐˜๐˜€๐˜๐—ฎ๐—ป๐—ฑ๐—ถ๐—ป๐—ด ๐—ฎ๐—บ๐—ผ๐˜‚๐—ป๐˜ = R998,334 (25 months in) โ€”โ€”โ€”- Under a standard 20 year home loan agreement, you would pay back: โœ…R2.31 million (R1.31 million interest) โ€”โ€”- Under FNB principal deferred structure, where they compress it into 18 years after the two year โ€œgrace periodโ€ you would pay back โœ…R2.35 million (R1.35 million interest ) You pay back roughly R43,610 more than a standard home loan, however, the article does not mention if the loan would be compressed into 18 years after the two year โ€œgrace periodโ€ or if it would be an additional 20 years after the 2 year โ€œgrace periodโ€, in that case costs can rise by at least R200,000 more.

Please allow me to publicly convey Mazwiโ€™s family gratitude to @pule_jones for connecting me with them, an intervention that eventually got majority of South Africans behind the release of Mazwi. The family also extends their deepest appreciation to all South Africans who treated Mazwiโ€™s case as theirs. Mazwi was discharged from hospital early this morning, but still needs to recover from a month long trauma, and still needs space to be with his family and those close to him and trust. The family have put him in a place of safety and they will be advised by professional medical teams when ready to face the world again.
