LOL Stephen Colbert is making his band play licensed music during his final show so CBS – who fired him – will get sued and have to pay millions "Anyone illegally using that music is gonna have to pay through the nose--" [band starts playing] "Oh no! I hope this doesn't cost CBS any money!"

@KenneyNL Can’t wait to dig back in with asset Forge. Was very into 2d dev when I got it, so I played around but ultimately forgot about it. Have grown a lot in 3d since then and want to make something neat.

While we were tightening the belt and looking for ways to cut costs in order to save up the 20% down we needed to buy our first homes, H1B's were getting 3.5% down loans and they didn't even have to come up with that 3.5%...that was given to them as well.

During the Biden administration, H-1B visa holders were buying houses with 97-100% financing. 97% would come from the FHA, with the rest coming from state first-time home buyer programs. Zero money down. Thanks to programs that were supposed to be helping low-income American families buy their own homes. FHA loans to non-permanent residents quickly grew to represent 6% of mortgage issuances. The percentage was undoubtedly higher in places like the DFW area, where H-1B visa holders are disproportionately concentrated. I don’t have anything against people in America on H-1B visas. I’ve said it before—and I’ll say it again—that I’ve found many of them to be great people on an individual level, and I wish them all nothing but the best. Individual immigrants—especially those here legally—are not at fault for flawed US immigration policy. But this might be the most radicalizing thing I’ve ever seen. Not only are American workers forced to compete for jobs, they’re also forced to compete in the housing market against people bringing 0-3% of a house’s cost to the closing table, versus the 10-20% most people have to pay. First, companies import mass numbers of H-1B visa holders, largely in "back office" white-collar fields like IT and accounting. This essentially imposes a lower ceiling on domestic wages in these job categories. Next, these workers—who are generally concentrated in certain geographic areas—create more demand for housing (especially in good school districts), driving up home prices and the cost of living. Then, to top it off, they don’t even have to save up money for a down payment. They can close on a $500k house with $0-15k plus a 97% FHA loan. Meanwhile, ordinary American families are forced to come to with $50-100k for the same down payment. I don’t care how you feel about Trump or what your preferred immigration policies are; there’s no defending this. It screws over hard-working American citizens several different ways over, and it’s yet another reason why I will always be glad Trump won and Kamala Harris lost in 2024.

@alightinastorm Talentless. I can start and sputter out on a project without ever even touching ai. /s Haven’t kept up with your project in particular, but AI is a tool like anything else. Making stuff with it is cool. Keep it up.

damn i just found out i was mentioned on reddit i don't get it, what do some people expect? i am building in hyper public, almost on every commit i'm recording a progress video and a devlog i set an insane goal of achieving AAA quality, which usually takes millions of $$ and huge teams 3 months in, i've achieved quite a lot and whenever i encounter a new problem space, i take a break from the game's development and develop a tool oss to make it happen, for everyone! Recap: First Demo: Figuring out as many problems as possible during "raw vibe coding" (cli/chat only) -> World modeling: Tested different AI harnesses for constrained modeling, from generative floorplans + extrusion to more sophisticated level editors with AI integrations -> Building character state machines is not a very good fit for code-only, as small changes require a lot of context for AIs, but may be solved with rewiring a node visually as a human. So i built the character + animation studio apps -> Iterating quickly across scenes and reusing assets: Built a vite-framework which connects the level editor and character studio to iterate faster -> Cheap but high quality vfx: Nothing exists, everywhere i searched (google, yt, forums) everyone seems to just happily pay embergen or houdini money to do it -> Higher fidelity of 3D human models: Tripo and other ai model generators are really great for props, but they won't get you to really high quality (and decent topology) and the biggest bottleneck currently for higher quality human characters is, YOU HAVE NO FREE HIGH QUALITY OPTIONS. Metahuman is pseudo-free. In between these breaks i always come back to the game and use these tools There's still SO much missing, from clothing for the models, to having a good default animation library (also here, mixamo is free but it is missing SO many animations!!) And more, so so much more. It's funny how i am actually very transparent and share the process daily and have to speedrun horizontally through all fields necessary, yet being compared to the influencers that show oneshot slop! My progress hasn't really slowed down, i'm hitting bigger problems which require more time and energy, even if vibecoded anyways new updates on the human creator soon, god forbid a robot takes a day off 😂

I’ve seen a few people having a problem with Daki landing a hit on Vader but I don’t get it, he’s a Jedi Master who is more than likely very old and very experienced, Vader isn’t untouchable.
