@RogersHelps Is there an issue with the Ignite TV app at the moment? I’m getting error messages on PVR recordings and on-demand streaming, and the live feeds get stuck on the loading screen. I am using the most current version of the app for iOS.

@MairlynSmith I’ve been in a brain fog for the last two days. No headache yet, thankfully, but I often stay in the prodrome/aura phase for days at a time without ever getting to the actual migraine.

@jfitzgeraldMD Maybe it’s because I’m in Canada and have an urban liberal circle of friends, but most of the Millenial dads I know are equal partners. Heck, I just had an male colleague take a 15-month parental leave so he could be at home with his kids while his wife pursues her career.

Baby boomers did a pretty good job teaching their millennial daughters that they could be anything they wanted to be and a pretty terrible job of preparing their sons for what that would mean for them as husbands and fathers

@PMbeers @jfitzgeraldMD Depends on the timing. My parents were both born in 1950, smack in the middle of the Boomer era. Im Gen X, but my younger sister is an elder Millenial (early 80s) and her kids are Zoomers (mid-00s).

@jfitzgeraldMD I'm GenX My parents were boomers My kid is a Millenial If I had grandkids they would be Zoomers Is everyone else having kids at 40? I don't get why people keep saying that Millennials' parents are Boomers

@Pereseverance @lithium534 @petergyang In my experience, you learn these things much faster in school, because that is literally all you do for the whole time. When else do you have so much time to focus just on research and analysis and problem-solving?

@Izzbell @lithium534 @petergyang None of the stuff you mentioned above are taught in schools lmao. Those are just skills you learn as you go through experiences in life.

@lithium534 @petergyang My current job is totally unrelated to my degree, but I used the skills I learned in school every day. Problem solving, time management, multi-tasking, communication, etc. The essay is the output - the process of writing it is where you actually learn the important stuff.

@petergyang I personally think that 80% of stuff you learn at school is useless. How many of you actually work in the field you studied for? I think it's better to know where and how to get the information you need when you need it then think that you need to know everything before hand.

@MangoTomato Sounds easy enough! :) Going to try this the next time I have a brownie craving. There’s a baker at the farmers market that makes a chocolate-tahini babka, and I’m totally obsessed with the combo now.

@MangoTomato Love this! Did you just spoon the tahini straight from the jar onto the batter, or did you add some sugar? Asking for a friend (ahem, me).

@jaxies I’m so very sorry. Losing a parent is really hard. I hope that you are finding comfort in your memories of him. Sending big hugs from the other side of the world.

I saw the musical & Juliette today, and it was such a delight. I spent forever explaining to my daughter why each HEA in it was so satisfyingly crafted as a romance author.

@DishntheKitchen Yikes. I could almost understand South Korea, given how tiny their clothing sizes are by comparison. But still… not okay.

@Izzbell Oh! Yikes. I experienced that in South Korea, except in very exaggerated arm movements. And I was only a size 12 then!

Thought I'd treat myself & to a new dress for a wedding. Went to 2 places w zero customer service. No greeting, no help to the fitting rooms, no comment as I placed the perfect dress back on the rack right in front of the clerk. This is what it's like to be a zero, not size zero.

@jaxies Here's the one that still sticks with me years and years later: "Are those space pants you're wearing? Because that butt is outta this world!" (I can't remember if finger guns were also involved, but pretty sure that also happened.)

Random restaurant thought of the day: I feel like high-top tables > low-top tables except when there's a cool banquette in the space.

@Izzbell @dinnerwithjulie @fridaythings @stacyleekong Agreed. And yet, I don't think for two seconds that these women would socialize with the protestors I'm seeing on the news, or for that matter even invite them into their homes. The yummy-mummy brigade tends to keep to its own. 🤷‍♀️

@EPrecipice This is absolutely perfect, and I literally want to frame it and put it on my desk. Every day has a donut, sometimes you just need to go look for it. 🍩 ❤️

When talking about our agendas for the day, I told my 5yo I was a little nervous about a meeting I have today. He said, “Mama, I am nervous all the time. I know what to do.” So friends, here is all the advice he could fit into the drive to school:

@TableMabel Sooooooo… what you’re saying is that I can expect this culinary masterpiece to be on the menu when we’re finally allowed to gather again in 2025 sometime? Because if so, I am totally there for it.

@311Toronto Sidewalk on the north side of Mortimer at Broadview is completely impassable for pedestrians, and partially blocked by an abandoned road sign. How is this acceptable?
