"He had to apologise to his teammates! Don't know if I agree with that..." It was the act that annoyed the rest of the footy world. But a rival captain has gone into bat for Patrick Voss, declaring he was "a bit stiff" to be sanctioned WHAT HE SAID >> bit.ly/3PptHgs

I have no issue with what Watson did to the Swans crowd, but Voss gets fined for taunting and Watson doesn’t? It’s a slippery slope, my friends.

@wheelreinvent You need to review the types of representation and the theories behind it. Proportional representation has its own concerns that limit direct member accountability in particular, yet you are worried about corruption!!

GLEN QUARTERMAIN: Does the AFL's new 'taunting' stance open the floodgates for all sorts of over-reactions to milk free kicks? Haven’t umpires got enough to think about out on the field? buff.ly/xGwNf0K

Thursday night Geelong v Adelaide in Geelong. Geelong 12 day break. Adelaide 5 day break + travel.
Dave Lloyd@AlbertonPower

Who at the @AFL signed off on the first month of scheduling? It's challenging when your blind loyalty overrides your sensible thinking as I'll keep consuming footy media, being a member, attending games but in doing so knowing the people running the show are completely inept.

Does Comben go for a hit Reid said was to his chin or was it self defence? Tough call for the MRO given angles of the incidents do show Reid changing course to run at a stationary Comben. You be the judge. Strong words from Reid on the “dog” nature of the hit although admittedly in a post match interview where he probably hadn’t thought it through

So basically if you choose to bump a player they can retaliate with a hit. So going forward there shouldn’t be any free kicks paid against a player defending themselves from a bump if they catch a player high is that the take away from this MRO decision?

No case to answer for Comben after the AFL decided Reid “abruptly changed direction” to veer into his opponent and that Comben’s actions didn’t constitute a strike

Patrick Voss spoke to select teammates and staff today at the @freodockers to apologise for his taunting of Harrison Petty. Specifically, he was sorry for his actions taking away from the team. Those he spoke to made it clear to him they want him to continue to tread the line and they love the way he plays. This followed a $1500 sanction from the MRO. @1116sen @AFLNation @SENBreakfast

A major concession from the AFL that those 29 seconds did indeed vanish from the game clock and were never added back. "Upon a full review, it has been determined that 29 seconds should have been added back onto the clock." Both clubs contacted today

The vanishing 30 seconds in the St Kilda Giants game in a weekend of timekeeping confusion. Where did it go? Hall kicks the goal with 33 seconds left, time goes to double zeroes, the half time siren sounds immediately at the next centre bounce 👇heraldsun.com.au/sport/afl/30-s…

No case to answer for Charlie Comben from the MRO. Here's their assessment of the incident with Harley Reid: "Yeo kicks the goal after the three-quarter time siren and Reid initially runs toward Yeo before abruptly changing his direction and turning toward Comben. Comben, in a stationary position, moves his arms up at body height to protect himself from the oncoming Reid. As Reid approaches with speed, Reid lowers his body and high contact is made to Reid. It was the view of the MRO that Comben’s actions did not constitute a strike. No further action was taken".

@MickRandallHS Accidentally - on purpose but never called. There are many people today who are gloating about the MVP' s downfall. No one seems to question the treatment that no other player is subjected to. Let's see how the new media darling Davis would go if he got this treatment. /2

@surfer_aussie @NBLPleb Nope, not a let em play guy at all. If they let them play Doo would have just ran over Delly casue he is half his size, but he was still worried after getting called for multiple offensive fouls when they had Kuol on him earlier this season... Davis cant be touched, delly assault

@purplereign95 If an opponent acted in such a manner towards a freo player it would get absolutely zero attention, in fact the media would probably love it. This is nothing more then the usual bs freo has to deal with

In regards to the Voss Petty incident I’d be applying Hanlon's razor is an adage, or rule of thumb, that states: "Never attribute to malice that which is adequately explained by stupidity." #aflfreodees

@TimGossage @freodockers He’s a good player, potential to be great but need to reign in the behaviour, looked arrogant on tv. If he gets a future suspension they’ll look at the behaviour & it won’t bode well for a downgrade or over turn.

I am not questioning Patrick Voss football skills and effort but do wonder if his extra antics are good for the team. Fans seem to love it but should the clubs head honchos and senior players have a word for him to rein it in. Your thoughts @freodockers fans?
