@ukboomers I think maybe just hide it with some new pipe coverings. Then evict the measly peasants and the new tenants will have no idea.

Tenants in our second buy to let found some asbestos pipes. It was there when we bought the place in 1994 and it never bothered us. We lived with it for years. What's the fuss? We told them to leave it alone but they want a specialist. £3,000 they quoted us. Our handyman Dave said he'd rip it out for £200 cash. Problem solved. Back in our day we just got on with it. 🇬🇧

Update later this morning I had my "asthma check" by phone a very pleasant chat with a pharmacist who really just wanted to discuss my inhalers. She assured me that she had been present in the surgery when I was there so the receptionist misinformed me .

@medicalmodelbri They don’t want people to fill that in do they?! Almost unintelligible unless you have a year to keep referring back to the draft, and have legal qualifications .

GPs not too long ago decided to only do what they contractually obligated to do. NHS england quickly determined we possibly give them a cool £570 million in 4 monthly freebies.

Until all the General Practitioners of UK are able to do a simple ECG and some basic blood tests, the NHS will not be able to modernise itself or take any pressure off its crumbling hospitals. The basics of primary healthcare are missing in the UK. #GP #generalpractitioner @rcgp

@Leicnut Is that in case you sneeze and it’s so forceful it blows the coffee filled receptacle toward the patient, causing 5th degree burns? Quite right….🙄

@DrHFRyan Do an audit for how often you take blood and how many attempts? Just keep a spreadsheet on computer until you get 20 entries?? Maybe a small patient questionnaire every now and then.

We were late to #RCGPAC because we were getting feedback from our CQC inspection. They've asked about our internal quality assurance process to ensure our GPs are competent in phlebotomy. Any suggestions as to how to tick that box? We both have a medical degree and a CCT in GP.

Cauda equina? As well as sudden onset it can slowly progress however a lay down MRI scan won’t pick it up as easily as a sitting or standing MRI as the weight isn’t on the nerves so won’t show the full extent of the compression. I don’t know their financial situation but standing MRI offer same day results usually £400 near Manchester airport for the lower spine which given the symptoms seems to be the issue. All the best

#Failed Six weeks ago a family friend started getting back pain that she thought was sciatica. Went to doc and physio. Pain gets worse and moves into abdomen, goes back to doc and sent for scans and more painkillers. Two weeks later she starts getting numb from bellybutton to top of thighs and goes back to doc where she urinates in waiting room and is now doubly incontinent as she has NO feeling there at all. She is being carried by hubby as she can’t walk. Doc sends them to a hospital ED. More scans come back clear and she’s sent home as she is with more painkillers. She’s lying at home unable to walk and her hubby has to clean and shower her when he gets in from work. Back to doc and sent to another hospital ED and once again bloods and all come back clear and she’s sent home. No advice, no catheter, no nothing. Six weeks have now passed and she’s found fitting. They phone an ambulance, it takes two hours to arrive and she’s fitting on and off the whole time. She’s been in the resus bay for four days now as when the seizure meds start wearing off she starts seizing again. Now she’s going for an MRI. Why was a 40yr old woman not kept in and investigated properly when she became numb in her mid section leaving her incontinent and unable to walk?

@DrEilidhMaria I’ve blue light trained and you are specifically taught not to pester cars to ho up cars or go though red lights. And to turn sirens off so as not to make people feel they should. There are rules for blue light drivers which are often not adhered to.

@rahttled_doc We used to wrap little treats/things to do and then unwrap one every couple of hours. We had card games (simple for little ones), mini building kits, pencils, sweets etc etc. made journeys more exciting. Also downloaded a load of films and had overhead earphones for them.
