$22 per 25# bag Anybody go down the rabbit hole of growing bird seed? Anybody grow a mix with millets... and other plants? Bagging is an option as our feed mill has a state of the art automatic sack system. Sunflowers in relay would work great.

8 straight days of rainy/damp weather causing serious impacts to local crops. Soybeans and corn seeds sprouting, apples cracking. Yield loss continues each day.

Another dry, hot summer in NC Kansas. Weeds don’t seem to mind it though. That’s why out here soybeans must have canopy closure. As you can see, XtendFlex canopies 100% while Enlist E3 will be fighting weeds all season long...

@TheresAnFuture They sequester atmospheric nitrogen, and help the plant make its own nitrogen. All legumes do this, very cool plants.

@Eric_Fink Not a single seed in the ground yet. Extremely frustrating when there’s still standing water in your fields. Spring 2024 is the complete opposite from spring 2023.

Been a struggle getting seeds in the ground from persistent rain. Soil conditions barely fit as we try to get in the fields before next round of rain Thursday

Needing some opinions for the #agtwitter world. Have a good market for non-gmo beans here. What’s the good, bad and ugly of going with them. Also some good non-gmo bean varieties people are using and having success with. TIA!

Say what you will, but it looks like it might be a good system. A field of two years of no-till, with cover crop. Very low OM, and very drought prone. Looks like things are headed in the right direction. #covercrop #worms #soilhealth #notill

Last time of plot walk before harvest! 213-19 sure didn’t disappoint for 3rd year corn on corn! Excited to tweak some things for next year!

@TZepplin @ChannelSeed 212-02 loves heat. Found that out in multiple plots. 211-11 also loves heat. Those two hybrids have been at the top of multiple plots this year. Usually within 1-3 bushels of each other.
