Pagasa announced that a total lunar eclipse will be visible for almost an hour in the Philippines and in other areas on March 3. The moon will enter totality on 7:04 p.m., and the maximum eclipse will happen at 7:34 p.m., turning the moon red in a phenomenon known as a blood moon, the state bureau added.

Ang daming bobo talaga sa daan sa Pilipinas. Sorry ha pero hindi ba basic rule of the road na a vehicle on the main road making a left turn must yield to oncoming traffic going straight, including motorcycles and bikes? If the car turned left across the bike’s path and the bike slammed into it, the presumption is that the car failed to yield to the bike, which violates this basic rule. Hindi naman yata on-duty ang ambulansya na ‘to dahil nakipag-away pa sa driver ng bisekleta! Pansin ko talaga sa Pilipinas ang daming atat lagi kapag nagmamaneho na akala mo may super important appointment sa isang VVIP.

For those who want a bit more context: parts of Sumatra, Indonesia have been hit by severe flooding and landslides, destroying homes, roads and bridges and basically leaving entire communities stranded without adequate resources. That’s why this reporter broke down. And the reason Indonesians are angry is because the government still hasn’t declared this situation a national emergency, which means large scale state funding cannot be mobilised and responsibility is pushed onto already strained local governments. But the craziest part is that on top of failing to properly assist civilians, the government is also rejecting aid and offers of help from overseas so how is any of this supposed to make sense?

As someone who's worked in medical AI for 7+ years, let me tell you, this is a comically bad take. First of all, the exact same techniques (LLMs/foundation models) used to train ChatGPT are now being used to revolutionize medicine Second of all, AI has always been a broad term since its original use in the 50s (!!). Machine learning IS AI. Too many people are blinded by their hatred for ChatGPT that now they are trying to minimize the value of AI being used to save lives! SAD!

If they say “pasma”, pay attention. In my experience it could mean peripheral neuropathy (usually median nerve), hyperhidrosis, or even Parkinson disease or essential tremors. Part of history taking is respecting our language. Using it and not English doesn’t make us illiterate
