The CEO made comment and next thing is people trending hashtags to cancel the company.. Some are even lying that they pay 150k monthly to senior staff, to what end ?

If you are about to harm someone, remember there are people depending on him……
I STAND WITH MONIEPOINT.
A few months ago, I had a productive conversation with a friend who works in a fintech company. Our discussion centered on why Nigeria has not be able to produce anything comparable to Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, TikTok or Pornhub unlike their counterparts in other countries.
His response was striking. He said: that if Zuckerberg, Elon Musk, Feras Anton and Shou Zi Chew were from Nigeria, they would have succeeded. If the politicians don’t bring them down, the citizens will make sure they are driven out of business.
He said Nigerians have a deep problem with celebrating one another’s success, and it almost feels like a curse. He gave some several examples, ST soap, Yemkem and others business that were brought down not by competition, but by hate, personal attacks, and coordinated campaigns against them by their own people.
So when I read about the sponsored personal attacks on the Moniepoint CEO, allegedly by SALAKO, I felt I had to speak up. In the USA, nobody sponsors attacks on Zuckerberg. In Singapore, Shou Zi Chew operates without any form of harassment. But here in Nigeria, we attack our own. Are we under a curse or spell?
What do you even stand to gain by the sponsoring media attacks against business built by our own people? And we would never do this to foreign-owners business. Please guys, let’s stand united against hate, harassment and abuse against our own.
Yes, we might have our different opinion about other people’s style of business but not to make it as trending topics or by sponsoring people to dish out false information to bring them down.
Let’s always stand by own.
God will help us.
