@pennymarienz Depends on atmosphere conditions; humidity and pressure are the main ones.

I saw a contrail while on a flight just now… they dissipate within minutes. Criss crosses across the skies that remain. And spread are not contrails. They are something else altogether. We have been watching skies for years. We’re not fools.

@pennymarienz They're contrails from aircraft, am I missing something ? Been around since the turbine engine was invented. Pain in the ass on a clear day, should route them away to the north and south.

Destroying Dublin Controversial €100m revamp of St Stephen’s Green Shopping Centre gets green light from council In total, the council received 61 submissions with the bulk of those opposed to the application. One objection lodged on behalf of the Save Stephen’s Green Campaign was backed by a petition of 20,000 signatures. independent.ie/irish-news/con…

@ballsdotie The origins of the "Scummy Irish" comment came from the English rugby fraternity in Eddie's circle at the time, fact. Ireland's players; now and in future, should remember that they will always be thought of in that way by the upper classes in England. Remember it.

@Fahadnaimb I was there that day, it was surreal and lucky no one was on the bridge ! Que a mad scramble to transfer onto other east coast bound flights, which was all done within the confines of the US departures area saving some passengers from having to go through pre-clearance again.

If you’re still shocked by yesterday’s China Airlines A350 in Melbourne rolling back and mangling its L1 door on the aerobridge… have a look at this absolute classic from 2023 Back on July 9, 2023 at Dublin Airport, an American Airlines Boeing 787-8 was sitting pretty at the gate when the jet bridge decided to throw hands. The whole bridge malfunctioned and collapsed, ripping the entire second left passenger door (L2) clean off the plane. Door on the tarmac, flight to Philly cancelled instantly. No one onboard, zero injuries... just pure chaos. These pics show exactly how brutal it looked.

@Michaelkelly707 It's a mad evening there with very bad weather including icing above FL700, ATC flat out, pilots working hard. Listening on ATC live, sounds hectic.

Flights at #DublinAirport are still experiencing issues with winds Currently some flights are reporting that at 100feet, the wind shifts rapidly from a 20 knot tail wind to a 20 knot cross wind

@Tomshinle @KyleGUFC @tillytilly23 Based on data from around October 2025 (six months prior to April 2026), fuel prices in Ireland were significantly lower. Data indicates petrol was roughly €1.65–€1.70 per litre and diesel was around €1.60–€1.70 per litre. Israel/USA escalation has resulted in a 40% increase

My 3 year old twin boys had to miss a really vital hospital appointment in Cork today because of the fuel protests. Rang the hospital to be told they will be put back on the waiting list. Who knows how long til we get an appointment again. It's a disgrace! #fuelprotest

@Michaelkelly707 It will be very interesting to observe the rarely used OKEDO approach to 28R. Also, how the departure queue is managed with the taxiing arrivals.

Watch the trusty MD-80 show off its old-school 'power-back'-using reverse thrust to back itself away from the gate! while most modern jets rely on tugs, the MD-80 (and its DC-9/727 cousins) had aft-mounted engines and reversible clamshell buckets that technically allowed it. But why don't we see this anymore? Reverse thrust blasts debris (FOD) all over the ramp, bangs up terminals, guzzles fuel, and is loud enough to wake jet-lagged travelers; plus pilots can't see behind them. 📹: bazukavia
