6 years ago I was on the brink of suicide. Tonight one of my boyhood dreams come true when I headline the Leadmill. I’ve thought long and hard about what to say before tonight, but all I want to say is thank you. Thank you to everyone that has supported me throughout the years, not just in my music life but day to day. There’s too many people to mention but you all helped me leave them dark days behind me to which they are now a distance nightmare. All that’s left to do is just enjoy, it will be up there with one of the best nights of my life and no matter what happens afterwards I am grateful that we achieved this. When I have grandkids one day I’ll be able to tell them that me and my band of pals headlined the main room of the famous Leadmill ❤️

@JBRowell @RokerReport As of 10am today they were open to supporters who have bought at least 3 home game tickets also the top tier seems to be only place to get seat next to each other if more than one but singles dotted around west and east stands

Today is always a difficult one on the calendar. 5 years ago I was seconds away from jumping in front of a train after planning to take my own life. My best mate saved my life and I’m thankful every day that he did. Fast forward and the last few years have been the most amazing. Not plain sailing, life isn’t. Still, I understand my mind, my triggers. who I am, what makes me happy and I’ve achieved things I could have only dreamed of both on my own and with the people closest to me. Mental illness doesn’t just disappear, yet when people tell you things will get better, they can. it takes a long time, a lot of work and bravery to be able to open up and I think men struggle so much with that. I know I did. 2 years after the date I was therapy free and now 5 years on i’m medication free. That’s not to discredit either of those things. I could have done both for the rest of my life if I needed to, they worked for me, but I’ve finally got to a place where I’m happy as I am and I used to think I’d never be able to say that. As I always say to everyone, my door is always open and I’m only ever a phone call away.
