@DrBradJohnson Generally agree with all your posts - but not this one. It would be a mine field when deciding who to recognize and avoiding hurt feelings of those missed or the perception of having favourites. Very hard things to “repair” once any damage is done - even if completely unintented

Teachers/ Staff have to trust you before they trust your leadership. Relationships before Rigor.

Please don't remove students from physical education, music, Arts, or other classes to remediate them in other areas. These classes are just as important for overall education and may be their favorite classes and one reason they like school.

It costs nothing to be kind. But it can be priceless to the recipient of your kindness.

Effective Leaders know that taking care of their staff IS putting students first.

The #1 priority of admin should be staff morale. Everything else is secondary. Here's a few tips: * give them a voice * Trust them as professionals * Treat everyone as individuals/ humans * Respect their time * Show them you care personal/professional * celebrate/ appreciate
