Reserve Battalion 941 Suspended Following Incident with CNN Reporter The entire Reserve Battalion 941, which includes veterans of Netzah Yehuda, has been suspended from activity following footage showing a CNN reporter being "attacked" by soldiers. According to sources familiar with the details, the move was intended to create deterrence among troops. Soldiers in the battalion were reportedly shocked by the collective punishment, which they say came directly as an order from the Chief of Staff, Lt. Gen. Eyal Zamir. This is a terrible decision by the IDF command, which once again, due to a standard of morality that does not align with international law, harms IDF soldiers. International law allows soldiers to use force in risk areas, even against journalists, to keep them at a distance when hostile journalists are documenting military activity. No shots were even fired, no one was injured, the soldiers did NOT break any laws. Hostile journalists (like the Arab CNN journalists) should NOT be filming our troops in high risk areas.

Cardinal Pizzaballa: “It is true that the police had said that the orders from the internal command prevented any kind of gathering in places where there is no shelter, but we had not asked for anything public, just a brief and small private ceremony to preserve the idea of the celebration in the Holy Sepulchre.
