He's a really high rank for a wizzo. Either a wing commander or more likely a ride a long from another unit who pulled strings to get in on the action. It's possible he and his infamiliarity with the advanced systems on this units planes is partly to blame for being shot down. Total speculation from this armchair warrior. But I've seen this behavior in officers before. Rank has its privileges is what we peons used to say. They get shot up, and 100x more enlisted put it all on the line to try and pull their fat out of the fire. Big rank, big ego, and the Wyatt Erp syndrome puts both the officer and hundreds of working class lower rank members at risk. I'm glad this ended in a mission success. But I hope some adults take a long look at the reason for the whole mess to begin with as well as the stumbles and fumbles they had to deal with to get the near retirement piece of the military machine to safety. May his after action report live long and suffer in the lime light of the follow up investigation.

Attorney General @PamBondi went into the DOJ in DC today and noticed that on the walls in one wing they still have big framed photos of Joe Biden, Kamala Harris, and Merrick Garland.  This is “ridiculous” three weeks into Donald Trump’s presidency.  So she took down the photos off the wall, there and then, on her own, and stacked them in a corner where we hope they will never be seen again.
