Jon Boorman

3 years today. Taking his boy to watch Messi play tonight. Something they would have enjoyed together. His girl, overseas at uni, attending a candlelight concert of a composer they both liked. Miss him, and his laugh. Forever in our hearts.

Thinking especially of Jon today. Thank you for still thinking of him-referring to his words or sharing his posts. His joy was his children and they are doing well and following their dreams. He lived his best life, hope you are too. ~Cindy

Jon is now home and in his final resting place at a preserved area between the courses of his beloved Cheltenham. Our families came together to remember him in love and laughter. Raise a glass to him should you visit - he would love it. ~Cindy & the kids

We lost our Jon a year ago today. Thank you all for your kind messages throughout the year and today. I am late with this message as I have been up before dawn with our new fur baby who arrived yesterday-little sister Georgi to keep Sammie company. I know Jon would have approved.

In his memory - Jul2019 Jon took our boy to the Stones in Jacksonville. They stood in the pit. Took our boy (now 14) in Charlotte - but mama doesn't do the pit! There is a line. Fantastic concert. Missing him...he would have loved it (and been at that dive bar!)

9) I know I will die. I just know what will kill me. And roughly when. So buy that coffee. Have that ice cream. And be nice.

8) Glioblastoma (brain cancer) has given me that, and that’s something I didn’t expect.

7) Knowing that you will die is fairly innocuous, of course we all will. But when you know you face death within weeks/months, your perspective changes. There’s elements of that we should have in our daily lives.

6)It’s a deep privilege to be able to say goodbye to people. Deep privilege. Constant family. Countless friends.

5)I have no regrets for myself. None. But I feel wretched for my wife, for whom retirement is now set to be a lone affair, and for the children. I’ll miss engagements, weddings, and grandchildren.

4) I made some awful decisions along the way too, but had some great success. I’m comfortable, maybe too comfortable to not be hungry, but I’m always learning.

3) Later married, the years we call BC (before children), traveling the world. And then the children. A beautiful girl. A sweet handsome boy. Moving to the US. What a dream.

2) I started so young in The City in London at 17, and after a few years was at the top of my game, running a trading desk in my mid-20s. What an incredible adventure.

Jon Boorman's final words: 1) I’ve become very stoical in recent years which has made this much easier to process. I’ve had an absolutely glorious life. I sometimes feel I’ve had two or three.

From his wife: Jon lost his courageous battle with glioblastoma today. Thank you for your kind messages of support throughout his journey as well as letting him know of the positive impact he had. What a blessing to have that gift. My children and I are forever grateful.
