Je me suis entretenu aujourd’hui avec le Président iranien Massoud Pezeshkian, ainsi qu’avec le Président américain Donald Trump. À tous deux, j’ai indiqué que leur décision d’accepter un cessez-le-feu était la meilleure possible. J’ai exprimé mon espoir que le cessez-le-feu soit pleinement respecté par chacun des belligérants, sur tous les terrains d’affrontement, y compris au Liban. C’est une condition nécessaire pour que ce cessez-le-feu soit crédible et durable. Il doit ouvrir la voie à une négociation d’ensemble permettant d’assurer la sécurité de tous au Moyen-Orient. Tout accord devra apporter des réponses aux inquiétudes que suscitent les programmes nucléaire et balistique de l’Iran mais aussi sa politique régionale et ses mesures d’entrave à la navigation dans le détroit d’Ormuz. C’est ainsi qu’une paix robuste et durable pourra être bâtie, avec le concours de tous ceux qui peuvent y contribuer. La France y prendra toute sa part, en liaison étroite avec ses partenaires au Moyen-Orient. C’est ce que j’ai également évoqué dans mes échanges ce jour avec les dirigeants du Qatar, des Émirats arabes unis, du Liban et de l’Irak.

So, just an update on my daughter, for all those following, everything was clear with the scopes except she has quite a bit of inflammation in her stomach. They took biopsies to see if they can figure out why. Now we wait. Follow up in 2 weeks. But at least we know WHERE the issue is. Now we just have to figure out why. Thanks for all pf the prayers. Please keep them coming. Hopefully it is just an allergy or something they can clear up with simple medicine.

I loved Matthew in that show because they really made him seem like someone on the spectrum, I think because his book is so detailed and he had that kind of hyper-focus. Wonderful things happened when he was given the right work and set on the right path. His social awkwardness reminds me of my own daughter's social issues, and it's a good reminder that God's plan for people takes those things into consideration!

Happy Easter Everyone! Was just thinking this morning… Imagine you’re sitting on a bench in a beautiful field surrounded by beautiful forest; like a scene from Bambi in Spring, animals and sunlight scattered everywhere in pastoral glory. Okay, now imagine there is a large Jackson Pollack painting sat on an easel in front of you; bright colors splashed chaotically in every direction like skid marks on a New York pavement. What does it look like in this setting? Does it look like art? Is it beautiful? Is it even interesting? Or does it look like something that should be removed? Does it look more like trash when compared to the majesty of its surroundings? It just makes me wonder. It’s one thing to pretend we like Jackson Pollock while standing in a cement building in New York City, but once you take his painting outside, the object itself seems absurd, offensive even. What business do we have calling that ‘great art,’ when there is so much natural beauty around us? I don’t think this applies to all modern art. I heard that Brian Eno has a method of watching a river while listening to a mix. If the music doesn’t flow with the river, he knows he has to change something. Maybe a good metric for painting should be—if we place it in a field surrounded by natural beauty, does it look nice there? Or would we rather just throw it in a bin? I’m not saying painting has to be beautiful per se. I imagine any paining by Goya or Francis Bacon looking very elegant in a field somewhere. But what is the point of making anything at all if it would be nicer to just stare at a tree?

Je crois qu'on ne mesure pas ce qu'Elon Musk est en train de construire avec X. Tous les médias de l'histoire ont été couplés à une culture, une langue, une bulle géographique. Le Monde parle aux Français. Le NYT parle aux Américains. NHK parle aux Japonais. Chaque média filtre le réel à travers le prisme de sa culture locale. X est en train de devenir le premier média de l'humanité. Pas d'un pays. De l'espèce. Je le vis en temps réel. Mes posts en français se font RT par des Japonais, répondre par des Brésiliens, citer par des Américains. Des conversations qui n'auraient jamais existé il y a 5 ans. Un libertarien français qui débat avec un ingénieur de Tokyo et un entrepreneur de Sao Paulo sous le même tweet. Pas traduit par un éditeur. Traduit instantanément par l'IA, en un clic. Les bulles de filtre culturelles sont en train d'exploser. Et je pense qu'on sous-estime massivement les effets composés de ça. Quand une idée peut traverser un océan en 3 secondes, quand un argument sourcé posté à Paris peut être vérifié par un économiste à Singapour et amplifié par un développeur à Austin dans la même heure, le coût de propagation d'une bonne idée tend vers zéro. Et c'est catastrophique pour un type d'acteur très précis : les médias qui ont construit leur business model sur le monopole de l'information locale. Ceux qui pouvaient raconter n'importe quoi sur "ce qui se passe ailleurs" parce que personne ne pouvait vérifier. Quand un journaliste français écrit que "le modèle américain ne marche pas", maintenant il y a 50 Américains dans les réponses avec des sources. Quand un éditorialiste dit que "le Danemark prouve que le socialisme fonctionne", il y a un Danois qui explique que le Danemark est 10e en liberté économique mondiale. Le fact-checking n'est plus un département. C'est un effet réseau. Les médias honnêtes n'ont rien à craindre de ça. Les médias qui vendaient une narration protégée par l'ignorance géographique de leur audience vont avoir un problème existentiel. Parce qu'on ne peut plus mentir à l'échelle locale quand le monde entier regarde.
