I cannot imagine there is a single analytics person working in the NBA who thinks Jaylen Brown is the Celtics 7th best player. I can see a world where a model has him there, but the human beings actually in charge of the model don’t actually see it that way.

I’m so glad a player of Jaylen Brown’s caliber has called out the analytics. I love the numbers as much as the next guy, but we have gone too far. I can attest to front office personnel using the numbers to tell the story instead of using the numbers to supplement the story. The numbers should never form the basis of the argument, they should help validate the point. I think it comes down to a fundamental issue with the league - there is not enough people actually watching the games. They are trying to shortcut the process by using the numbers to substitute absorbing hours and hours of actual footage.

Think it’s time for me to stop bitch and moaning. Lamelo is gone, still hard for me to swallow but have to accept it. Things I hope for next season.. 1. Kon and Miller tighten up there dribble. 2. Miller take a step forward creating for his teammates. As constructed we’re gonna need Miller to be a DOG and that true alpha we saw at Bama. Hoping he gets fully healthy from the shoulder injury. With that being said… Minnesota is gonna be must watch basketball lol

That you impact winning (191-80 in the last 4 years), is a top-10 player and would help any team looking to win a championship. That part of course didn’t make it. But that’s the media in 2026.

1000% chance he will this year. Much better than he ever had in Charlotte. The past three years Lee and crew sat Lamelo any chance they could get so they could tank in the name of “ankle tendinophy” but then when Draymond makes the tanking comment then too many eyes are on us so they have no choice. “Ankle tendinophy” magically went away after the trade deadline. Lamelo led team was on the cusp of winning us 50-55 games minimum next year. Lamelo is a superstar at best. Kon is not, Miller is too wishy washy. I’ll take Melo for 70 games over Kon and Miller led at 82 in my humble opinion 🫡

After a full 24hrs to get my emotions in check and come back down to earth from the Lamelo trade. It did not work, I’m still in shock but I have a few takeaways.. 1: Jeff Peterson and or ownership never truly wanted Lamelo. 2: Charles Lee’s constant passive aggressiveness towards Melo makes sense now. 3: The weird minutes restrictions at beginning of the season. Starting on the bench, funky minutes restrictions where if he gets hot we immediately call timeout and take him out, all in the name of “Keeping him from reinjury” but at the same time putting him in the lineup at ends of games in impossible situations 15-20 points down? WTH? 4: Things come to a head and we get healthy right at the time of Draymond “tanking” comments and the ownership is forced to play it smarter cause all eyes are on us. We start HOOPIN, even despite Charles Lee god awful lineups. 5: Ownership decides we’re too good to tank for the lottery so they give Lee the green light to unleash Melo. 6: I still believe they would’ve flipped Lamelo or Bridges at the deadline if they had a decent offer 7: Melo was never “their guy”. So even tho we were one defensive anchor away from serious eastern conference contenders, they were more focused on building “their team” so they can get the glory down the road.. 8: The issue with their plan now.. We were a season away from being legit perennial playoff contenders to now rebuilding once again and wow it’s weird to say.. But “Building around Brandon Miller and Kon Knueple” 😅 Now I love me some Kon and BMill but 10 seconds to go in the game how do we feel with the ball in Kons hands man to man with no one able to set him a screen. Can he create iso? Are we confident Miller can progress as a ball handler without dribbling it off his feet every other possession? Say what you want but when the moments were the brightest gimme LAMELO BALL. He was the head of the snake against Shai, Jokic, Luka, Wemby, etc beat em all by 20-30 plus. And we gave up on that because management doesn’t think a 24 year old is “Hornets DNA” or too “injury proned”… We gave this man away cause he wasn’t a politically correct fuckin robot like Charles Lee and the rest of management. I will be a Hornets fan till I die but we will never win anything with this terrorist coaching staff high jacking us. I wish Lamelo the best of luck and for better days for the Hornets!!!
