You should see what our David has done with his latest buy to let. A tired old 1930s detached. He's modernised the lot. New plastic windows, properly insulated. The original front garden was a maintenance nightmare so he's tarmacked it over. Parking for four cars now. He's painted the brickwork a smart grey. Tenants love it. The neighbours aren't happy but they should see it on a sunny day. A sight for sore eyes. Some people just have vision. 🇬🇧

@chefsevenn We ate what was there or went without. Sunday was a roast, Monday was a stew, Tuesday was a mini roast, Wednesday sausage & mash, Thursday a casserole and Friday was fish & chips. Saturday could be anything and then we started over again. That was it - every week!!

@Ade_Dohyeen I’m a light sleeper but hubby is asleep the moment his head hits the pillow so we very often sleep apart. We’ve been together over 20 years and I really don’t care what anyone else thinks - a good night’s sleep is essential for everyone’s health and sanity!

My parents slept in separate rooms my whole childhood. I asked my dad about it once. He said they made a deal early because my mum snores and he tosses. He said they sat down one evening and talked it through like a business meeting. His words. He said the first night apart they both slept like babies. He said they were happier than they had ever been. He never told people. Because when he said separate rooms they said oh I'm sorry. He said he was never sorry. He was just tired of explaining that love does not have to mean sharing a blanket. They are still married 39 years later.

@SuzieWo20886208 Their prices haven’t risen so much as the ‘big four’ supermarkets have increased their prices. But M&S food is of a much higher quality. There are some things Inwint pay top dollar for but by mixing and matching you can get the best of both worlds. Likewise, Waitrose is quality.

People diss M&S as a middle class snob shop. M&S have a range of everyday basic products that are cheap and high quality. Their small wholemeal bread is 65p. It's outstanding. Butter is good value and so are their baked beans. About 1/3 of the price of Heinz.

@BpdLion Dining out in the 70s and 80s just wasn’t an option for most folk ……… it’s not a lie - that’s how it was for many of us. It might sound like the Victorian times to you but that’s how it was. You can believe it or not - your choice - but it was a very, very different time.

Comically sad. Do you get the feeling he’s barely done a hard days work in his life? Unless it’s on camera of course. By haplessly doing normal tasks any person could and would do, Will & Kate only look more useless and out of touch. @CookingHub_ Use a non-stick pan and you don’t need anything at all - you can dry fry an egg!! Or you can break the egg in the pan, pour some water around the edge of the pan, put the lid on and steam it. Both much healthier than using that much oil for one egg!!!!!
