For everyone moving to blue pastures, I'm jcdavisauthor over there. I hardly ever post to socials these days, but still like to lurk and check in on author friends from time to time.

My husband bought me finger guards for chopping veggies. But the first thing I saw was the blue finger covers & I thought he bought me tiny socks for my hedgehog. I'm oddly disappointed they aren't 🤣.

Second time in 2 months that I've been happily reading a book when a curve ball comes out of nowhere with 0 basis in the previous text. Argh! A 3rd act twist is SO frustrating if the ground hasn't been laid earlier in the novel. Ironically, the "twist" is identical in both books.

So excited to be in a Writing Ghost Stories class with @novaren today! Bring on the spooky!

I start out the day with a list of tasks. 6 hours later I've barely started the 1st b/c a diff project derailed me & there was an emergency client. Have my deadlines changed? No. Thus it's 3:30 & I'm fighting a panic attack (no really, body, I CAN breathe). Hello, Monday.

Meanwhile, my kid is having epic meltdowns daily and getting Fs on his assignments because he hasn't had his medicine in days.

The ADHD medication shortage is going to break me. I have to call a dozen pharmacies to find 1 that has my son's rx in stock, pester the psychiatrist to submit the rx to the right pharmacy. Then repeat the process when that medicine is out of stock by the time the rx is submitted

A few years ago, my old job commissioned our illustrators to make art prints for women's history month. They are gorgeous. But the prints don't list the women in the images. Help? I recognize Maya Anagelou, but none of the others.

Being a mom means getting dragged out of bed at 1am by your 19yo daughter so you can answers questions such as: do these pants smell like cat pee? She's still alive. My restraint is super human.

One of the best feelings in the world is the joy of finishing a book that feels at once effortless and complex and which ends so perfectly it takes your breath away while still surprising you. Utter perfection
