@wongmjane I turned on the auto-expand shortly after joining and it makes others' CWs into minor visual clutter. But posting about some topics does feel like walking on eggshells.

Mastodon brings out a number of good ideas, and I appreciate its open ecosystem as well, but: The culture on Mastodon is a bit repressive to my taste. Like how selfies, food pics, takes, etc are expected to be labeled with CW. I don’t know the full list of things that needs to be tagged CW. Whenever I think of posting or saying anything on Mastodon, I live in the constant fear that if I miss, I worry the post might lead to my instance to be defederated by other instances So rather than reducing myself into saying bland, generic things on Mastodon, I ended up saying nothing there And as far as I observed, this culture isn’t a thing on Bluesky (at least as of now)

I don’t really understand GPT like tools, but if we could increase the input size to say, an entire codebase, and then ask it to output a diff implementing a feature… Well in that case what do we need the code for? We could just tell it to make the system exist and let it worry about the internal representation

The collapse of Silicon Valley Bank was totally avoidable. In 2018, Wall Street pushed a deregulation bill that allowed banks like SVB to take reckless risks. It passed, even as I and many others warned of the risks. I am writing legislation to reverse that law, S. 2155.
