Timber Ridge Elementary

Timber Ridge Elementary was transformed into a golf ⛳️ course today for the "Habits Classic," a daylong and building wide event where student leaders guided parents and students through an in-depth experience, sharing the 7 Habits of Highly Effective People they've adopted at Timber Ridge and explaining how these habits are relevant to our daily lives.

We are so proud of our Timber Ridge student leaders. Avery spoke on the student panel at the Leader In Me Symposium on Wednesday. Lincoln, Hana, and Rowan were greeters at the Symposium this morning. Huge shout out to these 3 leaders! @TheLeaderinMe

Timber Ridge held its final Leader in Me assembly of the school year! The assembly was centered around Habit 8, Finding Your Voice and inspiring others to find theirs. The Fella Voce Bass Clef Choir sang and members of the pep band came to play. Three former Timber Ridge students from the Fellas group spoke about how they found their voice and great friends through their love of music. TR students from each grade level also talked about a highlight or way they found their voice throughout the year. The assembly wrapped up with an 8 Habits chant by Mrs. Buban's class and the TR Leader In Me song! 🎶 💜💛

State Champion 4x100 team at the Special Olympics this morning. The team is made up of one current Timber Ridge student and three former TR students! So proud of these kids!!

Summit 7th graders visited Timber Ridge 2nd graders today. Both are learning about finances—through the farmer’s market and economics. Summit students wrote stories about trying to sell things, then read the stories so 2nd graders could make connections w/their own experiences.

Last meeting with our 22-23 Student Lighthouse Team. They have been a great group of leaders this year! @TheLeaderinMe

Nearly 200 students with special needs at 2023 Dragon Games! Hosted by Johnston Peer PE & Best Buddies, the field day featured adaptive & wheelchair bikes, parachute, ribbon twirling, catapults, sensory stations, giant soccer, bowling & more. DCG & Urbandale joined us this year.

A beautiful sunny day for the Timber Ridge PTO Fun Run at Lew Clarkson Park! Students wore specially made T-shirts and chose between running 1 mile or 5K. JD the dragon mascot, parents, teachers & high school students including the JHS girls soccer team cheered on the runners.
