Akinola Davies Jr. makes Nigerian cinema personal and political. His debut feature, 'My Father’s Shadow', tells a semi-autobiographical story about two sons exploring Logos with their father during the tense 1993 Nigerian election crisis. "For my brother and me, our earliest and only experience of our father was playing on a bed with him, which we tried to put in the opening sequence.
