We want a society where everyone thrives, no matter where we're from, the papers we hold or the colour of our skin. Our vision, "We Move: A Manifesto for Migrant Justice," shows how we can achieve this. Read+share+join us in making this vision a reality jcwi.org.uk/manifesto/

Britain was built by migrants. So yes, these reforms are ‘UnBritish’. Migration is a human right and so is the right to settle here permanently. Labour’s cruel immigration reforms must be scrapped. [4/4]

These migration flows were often forced, after British imperial rule devastated people’s homelands through exploitation, appropriation and oppression. The resources & labour of the global south powered Britain’s Industrial Revolution. [3/4]

But more than being unBritish, these reforms are inhuman, because migration is a natural human phenomenon & a basic right. People move. They always have & they always will. Everyone has the basic right to live, settle & form part of our communities permanently. [2/2]

Billionaires are funding fascist hate that is being pushed across the US, UK, and Europe where anti-migrant agendas are being intensified. But while the far right has billionaires backing, we have community power. That's why we're launching a fundraiser to fight back.

Human Rights Solidarity
Human Rights Solidarity@SolidarityHR·
This weekend at Camden Town Hall, Human Rights Solidarity had the profound honour of hosting a powerful Interfaith Human Rights Iftar. Bringing together voices from Jewish, Christian, Muslim, and broader communities, the evening was united under the theme of community, courage, and the pursuit of dignity, all in a shared commitment to justice and peace, bringing together the broad human rights community in a powerful display of unity and shared purpose. We were especially grateful to welcome our distinguished guest speakers and were honoured by their presence: .Welcome Address: Burak Batuhan Karakus (HRS Executive Director) .Anna Roberts (Executive Director, Burma Campaign UK) .Fizza Qureshi (co-CEO, Migrants’ Rights Network) .Graham Bisset (Board Member, Amnesty International UK) .Hajera Ahmed (Head of Operations, Solace) .Kerim Balci (HRS Chief Advisor) .Mia Hasenson-Gross (Executive Director, René Cassin) .Seema Syeda (Advocacy and Communications Director, JCWI) .Closing Remarks: Ceyda Kemanci (HRS Women's Committee Head) During the program, we reaffirmed that human rights are not abstract ideals confined to documents. They come alive in our everyday acts: at our dinner tables, in our neighbourhoods, and in gatherings that bridge faiths and build safer, more inclusive communities for everyone. @burmacampaignuk @anna_c_roberts @AmnestyUK @SolaceWomensAid @kerim_balci @SeemaSyeda_ @JCWI_UK @Rene_Cassin

This scandal-ridden government is scapegoating migrants for its own failures to tackle the concerns that really matter to people: the cost of living crisis, unemployment & housing. The UK should look to Spain, not Denmark, welcome migrants & regularise all undocumented people.

“Mahmood will argue next week that migration policies – including forcing people to wait 20 years before being able to claim leave to remain – were entirely consistent with Labour values” I just despair theguardian.com/uk-news/2026/f…

We need a compassionate system that puts people first, with the same routes of travel accessible for everyone, and the same good quality, safe housing for everyone.

The government continues to perpetrate this cruelty and violence in an increasingly desperate attempt to court the far right. Behind these numbers are real people who have had their lives torn apart.

This isn’t a serious plan. It’s punitive, reactive policymaking designed to appease far-right narratives, targeting those who already have so little. Ministers need to stop dancing to that tune and start building systems that are humane, robust, and actually work.

Instead of tackling systemic failures like poor planning, isolated accommodation - which is why some people were forced to take long taxi rides to appointments - the government is again trying to court the far-right with this punitive and short-sighted ban.
