@KBlrddd @TheHoopCentral They dont even need him in the 4th quarter, shouldn't that hurt how Valuable he really is? Meanwhile Luka decides most games for the Lakers

okay yeah. that was great. the last 20 or so minutes had me at the edge of my seat. incredible sound design, as you’d hope and expect a movie reliant on sound, it definitely delivers on the auditory horror.

@SuperHorrorBro @Crofteria I understand we feel bad when people's jobs get replaced by technology, it's been this way for longer than any of us have been alive. But these revolutionary technologies do objectively improve products and even if it can still feel uncanny now, it wont always.

Yeah, it's a bit uncanny. Super cool tech but in terms of real world use it has a more negative than positive impact on the games showcased I feel. So much work goes into the look and feel of a game and this undoes all of that. At least it's optional - won't be using myself based on these examples.

@JCalovera @swiftiegivingup @luvu2golka And now that I think about it, I wonder if the entity took over the mother's body what's why she acted weird after the fact. And also she was getting kind of haunted by the entity with the lights turning on and the banging. So you know what that makes a lot more sense now

@justin02350 @swiftiegivingup @luvu2golka No the death rattle was talked about earlier in the film with the nurse who gave her an update on when her mom will likely pass and i believe it occurred on a black screen right before the climax.

@JCalovera @swiftiegivingup @luvu2golka How about the daughter saying she killed her mother? And when was that death rattle? I'm curious to see if I heard or seen it. Unless you were saying that's one of the odd parts

@justin02350 @swiftiegivingup @luvu2golka Hmm this sounds more like the reality of the situation but I genuinely like the ability to interpret that part. Baby crying is indeed the entity, except when that woman killed that baby 😭

@JCalovera @swiftiegivingup @luvu2golka What was the flashes towards the end of what sounds suffocating? Was that the main character killing the mother? I'm assuming that the whole baby crying think had to do with whatever the entity was that was apart of the files

@justin02350 @swiftiegivingup @luvu2golka Justin is real. 10th file was on both of them. Mom actually died when you hear the death rattle. No diagnoses was given during the film. This is where it is odd for me too, but I believe it is because she lacked her mom's faith as stated. Mom is actually just still there 🫢

@JCalovera @swiftiegivingup @luvu2golka Sorry it's late but answer my issues for me. Was Justin real? Was the 10th file placing on her or both of them? When did the mother die? How did she die? Why would the daughter say she killed her? Why was the mother still in the room after she died, like a ghost entity?

Not sure I approve of something that fundamentally alters the art-style of the OG game in favour of 'realism'. Looks too close to those AI 'glow-ups' you see floating about. It's impressive tech for sure but it degrades the artists intended vision rather than enhancing it imo.

@MedoKusa4 @luvu2golka These are overarching symbolic themes and so that is always going to be left up for interpretation. The plot itself regarding the characters and media should make sense though. The tie for the children's songs were that they are warnings about the demon in the story.

@JCalovera @luvu2golka They had themes of motherhood, and then themes of postpartum depression, yet never linked a single one of these to our real mother and daughter. Instead they gave us vague plot points about children’s music Reversed, which I’m sorry, just wasn’t doing it for me.

@swiftiegivingup @luvu2golka Ah, yeah I feel like im more in the camp that if a story contains demons then it is firmly a horror movie. Also, the camera work that showcases the dark areas of the set were very masterful vs traditionally showing a demon there. Story overall isnt new but execution is unique

@luvu2golka Just not that good, not even in a sense of I needed more to hold my attention, because something was always going bump in the night, but in the sense that none of it fully connected. They gave ideas of a connection, but never committed

@SandyofCthulhu You are upset because it isnt the original ending. I think it is a fine ending as a standalone movie regardless of the adaptation it is supposed to be. Also most of us fans are not armed like the US army so I don't see how the fear is any less valid at the end of the movie.

I hated this ending so much I've been unable to rewatch the film. I feel it COMPLETELY undercuts and weakens the premise. Is it dark because he kills his friends. Yeah, I guess. But the ORIGINAL ENDING in which they are forced to stay in the evil monster-filled mist is a thousand times darker. Because everyone STILL dies. And the fact that the US army is apparently able to easily kill the mist monsters also destroys retroactively any fear I had of them. Heck if they'd been in a Target instead of a grocery store they could have armed themselves and shot their way out I guess. ARGH I hate the movie Mist's ending, and it's not because it's "dark". It's because it's NOT "dark". Ugh ugh ugh.
Emir Han@RealEmirHan

The Mist ending was so darker that Stephen King said he loved it more than his own story. The book ends ambiguously with survivors trapped in the supermarket. In the film, David sacrifices his son and the group, only to find rescue was moments away.
