📢Calling on any respiratory clinicians that currently use the IPPB setting on the clearway 2 for support and advice! We currently use the old mark 7 Bird and have recently acquired the clearway 2 with the IPPB setting and could do with some guidance 🩺 … TIA

@char_physio I’d imagine that requirements vary with each trust. I’ve just landed a rotational band 6 role and In my trust, it is expected you have completed your resp competencies, 18 months qualified and completed some band 6 competencies (supervised students/band 3/4’s, completed audits)

Any other rotational band 5’s struggle with when to apply for a band 6! I don’t feel confident enough only having 4 month’s experience in that area… but there are never any static 5 jobs around☹️ Do I feel like this because i’m not ready? Will I ever feel ready?😂

It was officially my last shift on Cardiothoracic ITU today. I’ve learnt so much in the past 4 months

@TylerLarsenMD I currently work in cardiac ITU and although the evidence might not be great for IS, it definitely works well as a prompt and an objective measure of progression (which pts like). In terms of use, we usually recommend to use every hour

1/ Do you prescribe Incentive Spirometry (IS) for postoperative patients? Is the routine use of IS to prevent postoperative pulmonary complications (PPCs) a "Thing We Do For No Reason?" Let's explore IS in the following #tweetorial! #MedTwitter

I started my Cardiothoracics rotation on CITU this week. One thing I’ve realised is that feeling uncomfortable in a new field is part of the process of learning

@dr_shibley @gitaramdharry Thank you for your response. I suppose all I can do is speak with other professions and perhaps recommend a dementia screen is completed 🤷🏽‍♂️
