@flying__candy @romfordslim1477 Best of 31 just means first to 16 so yeah he’s correct about that. But I don’t think the frames would have played out exactly the same in that case, the pressure balls come earlier and it might not have ended 16-14.

Absolutely gut-wrenching miss from Mark Allen but my goodness, how classy was he in defeat there. To compose himself and speak so eloquently and heap praise on his opponent like that just seconds after coming out of the arena, incredibly graceful. #BBCSnooker

@WeAreWST What a dreadful refereeing performance that was, the guy seemed more interested in being cute with the crowd than actually doing his job properly and keeping the match moving... left with egg on his face, he also didn't punish a deliberate foul from Allen.

@ccfcfan I’ve watched him a lot. He’s tended to not always bring the goods when playing on the TV tables (totally understandable as a teenager) but he was amazing today. He definitely has the confidence to get this done and looked totally at home.

Cannot wait to watch the conclusion of this match later this evening… first time I’ve watched Stan Moody and for a 19 year old he is absolutely fantastic. Playing some excellent snooker, I fear Kyren Wilson is in trouble

@ImShahinyan The basic idea is obvious enough it’s just a matter of checking how to deal with …Be3+ to h6, probably the WK will need to go to c2 to avoid …Qg1 deflections

@ImShahinyan Sindarov was just over 4 months old when Garry retired. He would probably still have been able to out-prepare me in any opening

This day in chess history (April 14): In 2005, Garry Kasparov played his final competitive chess game, drawing with Topalov in the last round of Linares. The greatest player of his era retired at world No. 1, leaving behind a legacy that transformed the game forever. On April 14 2026, 20-year-old Javokhir Sindarov drew with Anish Giri in round 13. He won the Candidates Tournament with one round to spare. The player from Uzbekistan earned the right to play for the World Championship title. Two April 14 days. Two big moments in chess. ♟️

Milkins is in pure ITV Drama mode here. If he clears his head he can win this easy the chances he's getting.
