@SausageOfFate Oh for sure, I just think it’s the wait for this June Direct was petty unbearable so to not have gameplay yet was upsetting. I’m sure if we had a direct in February with the same teaser no one would be upset.

@NullVoxxed I’m not gonna debate which game is better, but OoT gets pretty dark at some places. I mean there is literally the house of skulltulas, the shadow temple, the turmoil Hyrule is in during the 7 timeskip. Then a myriad of other dark implications throughout.

OOT's story isn't dark. It has many dark implications for readers but its overall tone never fully diverts from the lighthearted sometimes bittersweet tale it's presented as. The HF size and tutorial length complaint are fair but it's also not 3 hours. That time spent is just you

- Ocarina doesn’t have a 3 hour tutorial - Ocarina’s story is truly dark… Twilight Princess just tries to be dark - Ocarina’s items are actually useful outside of their respective dungeon - Ocarina’s Hyrule field takes like a minute to cross. TP’s is unecessarily big

@MightyGazelle1 It at the very least means they aren’t going to radically change it to like say Ocarina of Time with open-air formula or something completely different which I’m happy about! I do hope they’ll still expand upon the original game add back in some cut content that didn’t make it in

@ButlerJack33663 @Stealth40k It’s already not 1-1 by virtue of having a completely different engine, new character designs, and completely redone environments. Link’s bed looks different while somewhat familiar etc. They most definitely will expand on things and make the experience feel new and familiar.

@Stealth40k Saying timeless gameplay worries me that this could be a 1:1 remake But I still think they’re going to change and expand everything incredibly because I intercept “timeless gameplay” as the way you move link around the world, not necessarily the size of the world

@ZeldasBreakfast Again to be clear I don’t want open-air formula. When Ocarina of Time released it was probably considered open world at the time due to it being interconnected you having a decent amount of freedom and being able to revisit places I say just expand on what already worked.

@ZeldasBreakfast Open-zone, each hub world being vast/expanded and connected. With more to do, new npcs, side content/quests. Maybe some inconsequential but rewarding mini-dungeons like in Echoes of Wisdom. I want the story to still follow the linear progression it *mostly* did in the original.

open world used to mean all the areas are connected and you're able to go back to old areas (like OoT) instead of going level by level or having a level select screen (like Mario games) now it means you have to be able to go literally anywhere from the very beginning

96 Days away! No news which makes sense since it's the weekend. I wonder which character we'll get introduced to next? I hope it's Dietrich bc I need to know more about Alucard fire emblem! In the mean time I decided to go back to 3 Hopes & finish the routes I never got to do!

I disagree. The Hero of Time gets a rap for suffering the most, but Wild is the Hero who actually suffered the most out of them all. He lost his will to talk, he lost to Ganon, he lost his entire family, he lost Epona, he lost his friends, he lost a whole freaking century and everything he knew and he almost lost Zelda and his own house completely. He almost lost all of his memories too of it wasn’t for Zelda. She was his one sense of normalcy left. The thought of losing her again had to have been traumatic. The very least they could have done was give him his arm back. If you think that’s lame then I can’t help you. 🤷‍♀️
