HOUSTON CITY GUIDE
Favorite restaurants:
1. Azumi
2. Toca Madera
3. Okto
4. Mad
5. Abouzy (for brunch)
Honorable mentions:
Tago - good party vibe, food is good enough but you go more for the atmosphere
Brasserie 19 - classic Houston spot. Didn't make my top list just since the crowd leans a bit older but nonetheless very good food
Turner Cut - great steakhouse
Georgia James - also very good steakhouse
Favorite bars to go out and socialize:
1. Sante
2. Eberhard Social
3. Melrose
4. Clarkwood - more chill vibe
Best parties: Quack Circle. Check out their Instagram
You'll hear the term Cle Group get thrown around a lot. This is a reference to the hospitality and nightlife ownership company which once had a flagship nightclub named Cle. Cle used to have good pool parties, which then got ratchet. They now have invested into the Heights, and so far some of their newer places are actually pretty good. Heights Social is one of their properties but skippable - was solid in 2023 and now it's meh. BLVD Park is good for football or UFC fights. My favorite of theirs now actually is Cattleman's Country Club. They've cracked the code to keep out ratchets in Houston, and that's to simply just play country music

@Bowtiedplayer I lived in Houston for 3 years, I liked it but doesn’t have the cosmopolitan vibe Miami has.

@JDGomezMD Working on it. Had one thing that I thought was a sure thing but fell through. Looking at some other options.

@JDGomezMD I am glad that we both practice the same way and if that is not what you are seeing it must be that Miami is >
But cdiff is definitely in most panels
English

I have totally lost this battle
A whole generation of clinicians now believes the only way to manage diarrhea and diagnose cdiff is with Gi PCR
So sad
Elliot Tapper@ebtapper
One of the most wasteful things I see in clinical practice today is the use of multiplex testing One loose 💩 or a lifetime of diarrhea and a GI fellow will send a “GI PCR” all the same But it turns out GI PCR is just the tip of the iceberg compared to urinary testing!
