@StirUni It's not my business what you teach, & I wouldn't think to complain about it either way. My grouch was with what the Telegraph reported: the claim that replacing Austen on a module with a very high profile, best-selling novelist from a superpower was an act of 'decolonisation'.

This is an absolute scandal @StirUni. @GothImagination was, is, and remains a programme producing world leading research paradigms in C18th, Romanticism, Modernism, Postcolonial, and Comp Literary Studies. I urge @StirUni authorities to reconsider this shortsighted decision.

#MyGothMLitt I left a 'career' with all sorts of stability and security in order to study this course, and I don't think I could have made a better decision. It has CHANGED my life and quite possibly saved it too. #SaveGothicImagination

I was the external on this programme over a decade ago. It produced amazing work, and is the first programme of its kind in the field.
