Today’s reading; the Super-Excellent Master degree from the Royal & Select. Part of the Hiramic legend - this set of degrees is perfect for those already Exalted into the Royal Arch and Advanced to the degree of Mark Master Mason. @GLofMMM

@Freemason_3831 @scouts This is the Digital Citizen Activity Badge it teaches about kids about staying safe online. It’s a staged badge where the awareness is taught at higher level each time.

@MasonOfLondon Yes, work does pose its own set of problems. I often have to got to work dressed in stripes which does rise some eyes as I have not time to go home and change.

How many cases do you use? I’m currently working from 5. While it sounds “oh look at me”. I’m very pragmatic and having a case for different order makes sense to me. Each case has a certificate, regalia and ritual book (and a number of old summons) plus a toast list - once a DC.

@thecraftbloke WT are great to start with but I think equally - the opening and closing of a lodge shouldn’t be over looked. It’s something we see at every meeting but surprising how many little mistakes creep in.

@JDavis4304 I'd say go to LOIs and Rehearsals and visit other lodges (the more you listen, the more comfortable you get); make questions and try to memorise small portions (The WTs are ideal for new members to learn). And, whenever feeling confident, volunteer to be an active part in Lodge.

Ritual is a huge part of being a Freemason. Many of the lessons we a taught come from the degrees we take. The real learning comes when you read through the ceremonies. It’s even better when you take part. What advice would you give someone learning ritual for the first time?

@LancsFM All great ideas. I agree, sometimes doing more can be a detriment to the learning process. One of my new year resolutions (yes one stuck!) was to never leave the house without a ritual book. So I’m always reading something everyday. Like the rule of 50!

There are loads of ideas - recording your own voice reading it - and reading it a lot. My general rule of thumb is 50 times (any more than 5 times a day and you are retaining not much more) so 10 days minimum, but that doesn’t leave much time for polishing. 15 days or more ideally. However lengthy pieces or multiple pieces you need as much time as you can get. A couple of other tips are writing it down, the act of writing helps it go in. Another is even when you don’t have ritual to learn, set yourselves little tasks like learn one of the tools or the cornerstone address, a nice one often overlooked is the second degree charge. I wish I was disciplined to take my own advice all the time 😁

@RobertW73173794 Good advice. If you’re new to freemasonry ask if your province has an initiates scheme where you can be invited to other meetings.

@JDavis4304 I’d say arrange a visit to a lodge where the piece you are tying to learn is being done. Attend all rehearsal and LOI don’t be afraid to make mistakes the brethren are there to help you build not knock you down

@neilward715 Fair comment. Always best get things right from the start so as not let things creep in and become ‘the norm’

@JDavis4304 I've seen to many candidates wearing brown shoes, I known it's "trendy" with the young but not in Freemasonry

What you need for your first lodge meeting? 1. Dark suit 2. Dark/Sober tie (Provincial tie may be. presented to you) 3. White gloves (check with your lodge DC) Your first two aprons are usually provided by your lodge. What else? #freemasons #newfreemason #masoniclodge

May the 4th - the wisdom of the Star Wars galaxy feels closer than ever. Like Freemasonry, it’s a journey of light, knowledge, and self-mastery. Where discipline, brotherhood, and the pursuit of truth guide our path. May the Force and the Light be with you.

North Wales Freemasons celebrate the 100th anniversary of The Lodge of St Hilary 4801. Provincial Grand Master Paul Maddocks was in attendance to mark the 100th Anniversary of The Lodge of St Hilary in Llandudno. The Lodge generously donated £2,028 to the Festival 2028 Appeal

Today I spent the day celebrating my son’s birthday. We were joined by @TomKGolds and his family. Brotherly love does not stop at the doors of the lodge - in continues beyond the apron and touches those most important to us, our families. #familydays
