VOTER REGISTRATION
"From March 30, we will begin the enhanced continuous voter registration exercise. We are urging all eligible voters, particularly the youth, to turn out in large numbers. After the one-month window, the exercise will revert to our offices, which may limit accessibility for some voters. We will also visit institutions of higher learning to register eligible voters." ~ Gogo Nguma, IEBC County Election Manager, Nairobi County

We must demystify the ideology of party worship. Political parties do not own people. People own political parties.
Leaders should be elected based on what they do and not on account of the party ticket they hold.
This is the only way to reform our politics.

DeCePtiOn is a compelling novel written by Amal Mohamed, a young and talented author currently completing her law degree. Remarkably, she crafted this gripping story in her late teenage years, addressing deep societal issues with maturity and insight.
The protagonist, Wilkester, rises from an impoverished background to join the prestigious Best Lady Girls School as an innocent and hopeful student. However, her dreams are shattered when she encounters Mr. Macharia, the school’s deputy principal. Behind his respectable façade, Mr. Macharia manipulates vulnerable students like Wilkester, using small favors to gain their trust before exploiting them to traffic drugs in school.
This fictitious tale mirrors the harsh reality faced by some schools in Kenya, where instead of nurturing future scholars, they become sites of exploitation and broken dreams. Wilkester becomes one of Mr. Macharia’s victims, leading to her expulsion after being implicated in drug trafficking. Tragedy surrounds her further as her mother dies of a supposed heart attack at the school, an incident that raises questions about Mr. Macharia’s involvement.
Wilkester later reunites with her friend Dorlitter, another victim who had a child as a result of Mr. Macharia’s abuse. Dorlitter's parents also died under suspicious circumstances, suspected to be silenced by Mr. Macharia. Despite their suffering, the two girls decide to fight back and expose the man who destroyed their lives.
Will Wilkester and Dorlitter succeed in bringing Mr. Macharia to justice? Deception takes readers on a powerful journey of resilience, courage, and the pursuit of justice, shining a light on issues that demand attention in society. @amal_m_abdi. Shortly I will embark on reviewing Amal's latest novel, The Shades of Hope. It is even more exciting than her first book the Deception.

Public Interest Litigation is an area of practice that is highly addictive, and when you start, you just can never stop.
Last week, we got a favourable Judgment from the ELC Court in Isiolo, ending a journey that began in October 2019.
The matter concerned over 20,000 citizens of Burat Ward who were being evicted by the Kenyan military. The military, holding a title deed, gave the petitioners 30 days to vacate the land.
We dashed to court, assisted by my learned senior Magee Maina , we managed to get conservatory orders stopping the said eviction.
The judgement was delivered confirming that indeed there were historical injustices meted out by the colonial government vide the several pre-independence gazette notices that allegedly gazetted the land as public land. All due to the fact that when the colonialist came, there were people living on these lands.
Research in this matter was intense as it involved my very able team going to the national archives to retrieve historical documents.
Burat ward is one of the food baskets of the northern frontier, the people will now be able to continue with their livelihood without threat of eviction by ANYONE pending the issuance of their title deeds.
I wish to thank the @LawSocietyofKe for entrusting me with this matter, as they referred the clients to me, pro bono.
The angels in heaven continue to sing in unison today, because justice has indeed been served.

Gen. Francis Ogolla was a true Soldier, General & Public Servant. He never used his decades long distinguished military career for personal enrichment. Poor people become Governors & Ministers & in two years are buying properties of Kshs. 900m! Gen. Ogolla is a true patriot we never truly celebrated. Fare Thee Well. The General is dead. Long live the General.
