Excited to share new research from PICI Center Director @wolchokj, PICI researchers Taha Merghoub, Mohamad Hamieh, and other researchers from @WeillCornell Medicine, where they highlight a promising new approach to treating bladder cancer. Published in the @JExpMed, the study identifies MUC16 as a promising target for CAR T cell therapy and demonstrates that delivering CAR T cells directly into the bladder effectively controls tumors in preclinical models while minimizing systemic toxicity. These findings could help pave the way for new bladder-sparing treatment options for patients with therapy-resistant disease. Learn more here: rupress.org/jem/article/22…

Excited to share this “Insight” @JExpMed about an amazing new finding by Zhou, Zhang, Ye, Staeheli &co showing that type III interferons #IFNL also signal in #fibroblasts driving renal #fibrosis! #InterferonPower! #EveryCellIsAnImmuneCell! #FriendsOrFoes!

IFNλ works at mucosal surfaces by signaling in epithelial cells and selected immune cells. Zhou, Zhang et al. (hubs.la/Q04nCCfZ0) demonstrate that IFNλ also signals in kidney fibroblasts sustaining renal #fibrosis. @Lo_Zanzi highlights the findings: hubs.la/Q04nC-CF0

Zhou et al. identify a new mechanism driving kidney #fibrosis. They reveal that IFN-λ, produced by renal tubular epithelial cells, directly activates renal fibroblasts to cause fibrogenesis. Blocking IFN-λ signaling can delay progression of renal fibrosis. hubs.la/Q04nCCNP0
