@SophieIbberson @SundayShare10 This may not be helpful at all, but I remembering reading @DrErinHenderson saying that “men need to win to like each other whereas women need to like each other to win”. Have thought about how that impacts how I coach ever since (I only coach U11 boys at the moment)

@IanBrowring2 @Teamgrassroots_ I’ve been coaching 7 years. Never had any of this. Occasional loud parent. That’s it. I can not imagine or fathom a parent being like that. My daughter age 14 would pull rank too

@Teamgrassroots_ I’ve been coaching 11 years it happens every week with parents it’s the main reason who I hate matchday and prefer training the lack of restraint and respect is shocking I’ve had to contain myself beyond reasonable expectations

Yet again this weekend an under 12s football game had to be abandoned today in Wigan by an under 18 referee (a child) due to a parent (an adult) storming onto the pitch. They were all children on that pitch and Parents really need to learn that it's a children's football game. Nobody should enter the field of play unless invited to do so by the referee. This is a serious safety and safeguarding issue! Incident has been reported.

@Teamgrassroots_ u14s and the ref told us that the game couldn’t start because we had forgotten the corner flags. He said the game could go ahead without any nets on the goals but not without corner flags 🙈. Someone was sent to pick them up delaying kick off 🤣

In the new Cabinet… Parrs Wood High School in Didsbury, Manchester, appears to be Labour’s equivalent of Eton… (it was threatened with closure when my sister was there in the 80s… and then rebuilding was only funded by selling the playing fields to a ten pin bowling alley…

Yes two of us in the Cabinet went to the same comprehensive school in Manchester - pretty amazing really. I’m currently a parent there too!

Disappointed when we still see adverts for “experienced 6/7 year olds wanted for teams” As a general rule 6 and 7 year olds still believe in Santa Claus and the Easter bunny. So they probably haven’t got a 7 year professional playing CV they can produce. Paul Kirton
