Being a content creator, streamer, or #Vtuber on #YouTube or #Twitch has been a dream for many of us, but it turns out there are many ways such a career can hurt creators physically, mentally, and socially. Let's explore how in my video essay: The Downsides of Content Creation

You're boi is gonna be a DOCTOR... ...of Nursing Practice!! It'll be a three-year program, but I'll be worth it to become a Nurse Practitioner. I'm hoping by reaching the highest level of nursing clinical expertise, I can create systems level change & educate future nurses!

Hi, primary/urgent care doc here! Disclaimer these medications are OTC over in the US where I'm based in. Usually I recommend antihistamines (Benadryl/diphenhydramine at nighttime only since it can make you drowsy, Claritin/loratidine or Zyrtec/cetirizine in the daytime since these cause less drowsiness) which are by mouth. These are made for the usual symptoms of allergies like runny nose and itchy or watery eyes If your cough might be more because of the rhinitis causing postnasal drip, then nasal sprays like Flonase/fluticasone might help more Decongestants (the -D part of medicines like Claritin-D) are usually meds like pseudophedrine, be careful not to take these for too long (usually I saw up to 3 or so days at most) because otherwise they can lose effectiveness and sometimes even worsen your congestion Hope this helps!

Hallo! Would anyone happen to know what OTC meds work best for allergy coughs? I think the weather change or maybe air particles triggered my rhinitis and now I've been coughing non-stop (╥﹏╥) Please share I really need advice aaaa

@saikenMD You got hate for being too doctor-y telling people to get their flu shots and now you're getting hate for not being doctor enough. There will always be someone upset, best we can do is try to strike a balance where we can

yo how do i simultaneously get death threats on this website for reminding people to get their flu shots, but also get spammed for not commenting on the oncogenic effects of COVID-19 infection??? The post was about me diagnosing CRC in a patient in their 30's and highlighting dietary fiber intake as an easy lifestyle modification in the western diet. Like I'm just talking about pancakes and the bots are coming out in full force asking if I'm a waffle denier💀 We don't have the evidence supporting it is directly oncogenic like HHV-8 & Kaposi's sarcoma or HPV 16/18 & cervical cancer, but COVID obviously does a number on the body and creates a multimodal inflammatory state that can promote cancer development through a bunch of different mechanisms. So yeah, masking up is great advice, but just let me talk about how good fiber is for you like damn!!

Do you know that you have a bad habit but are struggling to make meaningful change? Maybe your doctor told you to eat healthier or lose weight (I know I say that to my primary care patients often). Setting SMART💡 goals can help. Having a SMART goal not only sounds like a good idea, it's also an acronym and framework conveniently describing what makes SMART goals smart: S- Specific 📝: Have a particular goal in mind? Be as clear and detailed as possible. Who is responsible for what? What steps or actions are needed? Vague and abstract goals are tougher to work on and understand. M- Measurable 📏: How will progress be measured? What should success look like? Finding a way to track progress can not only increase motivation but also hold yourself accountable. A- Achievable 🎉: Is this goal something that you can reasonably accomplish? Do you have the skills, the resources, or the time? If not, is it possible to reduce the goal to something that is achievable and still a positive? R- Relevant 👍: How does this goal fit in to any broader goals, visions, or missions? How does this goal contribute and is it impactful? T- Timely ⏰: What is the specific time frame for achieving your goal? What deadlines and milestones will you set? Having concrete timepoints helps with staying on track. SMART goals were first described in the 1980s by George T. Doran in the context of management. Since then, SMART goals have been adopted in fields such as healthcare and especially in primary care to help with addressing long term goals and making abstract goals like "being healthier" more easily reachable by working on small, bite-sized tasks first. Next time you have a goal in mind, try being SMART about it and see if that helps make achieving that goal easier.

In addition to that, there are more modifiable risk factors for colorectal cancer that are unfortunately SUPER commonplace especially in western lifestyles, like obesity or being overweight, diabetes, smoking, heavy alcohol intake, and a diet heavy in red and processed meats. Take care of both your guts and the rest of your body to reduce the risk of many types of cancers and other harmful diseases. Any small positive change can help
