@aseparatemind That wasn't even defense. The puck was going the other way and he was heading off for a change. It was a retaliatory penalty because he was mad at Hughes.

I don’t necessarily think it’s a culture issue so much as they’re playing like a team that doesn’t trust themselves. Kane took a penalty that could’ve been avoided. Some can say it’s just lazy defense, and it is, but if he trusted his defense or goalie maybe he doesn’t take an

@JGT_91 @aseparatemind They can still win but if they lost MacKinnon and Nelson in one fell swoop their depth takes a significant hit. Their options would be Necas, Roy, Drury, Kelly, and Bardakov. Would they still play as well with any combo of these guys as 1 & 2 C? Probably not. That's the point.

I think fans should be able to pass a reading comprehension test before presenting takes. MacKinnon and Nelson are THEIR 1C and 2C while Larkin and Copp are ours. Do you see anywhere comparing abilities in that post or just stating if they lost their top centers they’d do worse
