as someone who covered that Pitt search, I thought this exchange between Jeff Goodman and Dan Hurley on a recent Field of 68 podcast interview was interesting everything I was ever told during that search was Pitt put forth a serious offer but was always playing from behind

@BrettKollmann @ChrisDokish Let’s be honest here, nothing else matters besides a franchise QB. Year to year, decade to decade, none of the timelines matter if you find a QB.

I get the sentiment of always competing no matter what, but the Steelers insistence on always being as good as possible from year to year comes at the cost of their ability to be as good as possible from decade to decade.

Pirates just aren’t a legitimate team without a bullpen. It’s a shame really.

Tanner Howe is the gonna real good. So will Zonnon, and Horcoff. We got Broz and Hayes too. Kindel is our best skating prospect, but I just think he will end up being very mid, and I’d move him for value, before he’s 22-23, 5 years in, and still not a point per game player.
