@aria_gerson The strike zone box matters more inside/outside rather than high/low. That’s where most strikes are missed (and the high “strikes” for Mancini and Waite).

@aria_gerson I sat behind home plate in Lexington last weekend. SEC umpires don’t miss balks and strikes by just an inch or two. They call games like umpires did in the ‘80s and ‘90s. Horribly inconsistent.

@aria_gerson Forget the challenges, will we actually br able to see a legitimate strike zone box during the SEC Tournament? That would be just as interesting.

@aria_gerson Waite was better in leadoff than he’s been all year. Is getting some production from him worth dropping Mancini, Johnston & Holcomb one spot in the lineup? Maybe?

@aria_gerson The fan base can criticize the pitching staff and coach all it wants and praise the offense, but the heart of the order—2 thru 5—didn’t have a good series and didn’t step up when needed. Johnston probably had his worst offensive series all year.

@twentysidesmatt My issue is that they really struggle when we fall behind. Even if some aspects of the offense have improved, playing tight when we fall behind was an issue last year. This year, it’s almost a death sentence when we fall behind early.

One thing about this offense, is it feels like it's solely dependent upon the home run. I'd love to see a break down of their run production from home runs compared to all other ways. 9 hits and no runs is tough to do, but no home runs today.

@twentysidesmatt Understand the mindset. Two thoughts. We’re having a bad year, but the recruiting classes are still top notch. The question is who makes it to campus. There will be legislation that ends sone ic this craziness. I’m never giving up on Corbs. I’ll be at the Alamo as we get overrun.

@aria_gerson @twentysidesmatt @h_holden7 Then I’m confused. I may know the game you’re referring to, but there weren’t 6 SB. (I never miss a UK-Vandy game and remember one with 4 SB against us.)

@JHHenderson @twentysidesmatt @h_holden7 That actually wasn't the one I was referring to, but that's another example of a late-season switch that I think is indicative that there are times where things can crop up in games that weren't anticipated based on practice.
