For 60 years, Professor Hattendorf has served our Navy and our Nation as a Surface Warfare Officer during the Vietnam War, chronicled the history of Newport, Rhode Island, and the growth of the @NavalWarCollege —reinforcing that Newport is indeed a “Navy Town.”

W., Jr. Since his middle name of Callwell was not conducive to a nickname I suspect he or his family may have come up with “Bill”. When we get access to libraries again we might check the 1922 Lucky Bag to find his Naval Academy nickname.
