He bumped into one at Newcastle on return and then went even closer at Redcar latest. He looks ready for a mile already but this is winnable and he should be sharper again so I'm expecting him to get off the mark now. This is a good race with quite a few in with a chance but EUPHONIA impressed with how she won last time out and now the penny has dropped I can see her going in again despite the rise in the weights. She needs to prove she can handle this softer ground but her knee action suggests she will and I'm keen to keep her on side. I'm confident VELVET RHYTHM is the one to beat here. She has plenty of size and scope and did it the hard way at Newmarket last time out. She was in front a long way from home and had to keep finding to fend off all challengers. I thought she did it with a bit up her sleeve at the line despite the second closing and with further improvement to come should follow up against these. With Affettuoso now a non runner HARMONICS looks decent value to come out on top. This colt by Lucky Vega didn't show a huge amount on debut but he is bred to be pretty useful and I expect him to take a sizeable step forward now. He needs to settle better but if he tucks in early he could be the one hitting the line best of all. I thought BOSTON MAX would be shorter so happy to make him a strong bet at 7/4. He ran out an impressive winner on handicap debut at Dundalk last time out and could easily be a fair bit ahead of the handicapper here. Billy Loughnane has been booked and everything suggests he is going to run another big race. Forever Glamorous looks the obvious danger so I'll be covering the reverse forecast too. Not many of these are in form so DANCING WITH DRUMS is the obvious one. He appreciated dropping back to this trip last time out and if in that sort of form again should follow up here. Dragon God could run well as long as he isn't given too much to do and might be worth a place bet.
