Before the past 3 years, I had no idea AAU has turned into what it is. Some of the slimiest and worse people AND FAMILIES are in this business. The things I have seen people do in the last 3 years has been eye opening. In the end...the kid suffers.

@JacobPadilla_ Heart of America too - mostly Iowa and Missouri schools - in the fist part of the year most play D2 and upset city - great coaching - high IQ players and mixed with some elite athletes and most usually have at least one if not two that can just flat shoot the ball

You can find really, really good hoops in the GPAC. I'm not sure a lot of people around here understand that. If you think you or your kid is too good to play at the NAIA level, I'd recommend going to a game and seeing it for yourself.

One aspect of Jalen Brunson that often gets overlooked- his academic success. He took a bevy of AP classes at SHS (his mom Sandra always made him email his teachers weeks in advance of known absences due to bball), and he graduated from Villanova in three years. He was as successful in the classroom as he was on the court. He is a great role model for kids today wanting to succeed in both arenas.

Players embrace this! Find your fit! Have love for the game.

I was told I wasn’t ready for high school I was taken out of games for “turnovers” I was benched and lied to for the reasons I was belittled and yelled at and called uncoachable. I was told I didn’t “trust the process” I was told a lot of things in the last 7 months. Maybe I turned the ball over…Maybe I didn’t fit the mold. Maybe a lot of things……….i played sick, I played injured and I gave it everything I had. You didn’t break me….you made me stronger. My favorite coach told me “you don’t win big games playing it safe” I love my high school coaches. I love my TEAM!!! I love my family. I am enjoying the game again. I love everyone who believes in me! Let’s GO! @Coach_ErikH
