Around 33% of academic physicians report intention to leave their jobs in the next 2 years! 📊 Rheumatology Specific Data (n=102) • Intention to Leave 35% • Professional Fulfillment ~33% • Burnout Present ~40% Suspect not surprising data to many of us in #Rheumatology #MedX

1 in 3 academic physicians report they are considering leaving their institution within 2 years. Burnout and lack of professional fulfillment were associated with intention to leave; a comprehensive approach will be needed to reduce physician turnover. ja.ma/3GKmRKN

Throwback to a memorable moment at the Ohio Association of Rheumatology ‘23 meeting when Dr. Kolfenbach asked for a pic together. The matching ties were pure fate! More than just a fan moment, completely awestruck by the gesture! #Memories #FanMoment

@CuoghiE @rheum_cat @ChooseRheum The person highlighted by these tweets is a medical student, who may or may not ever meet the PD (so hard to fault them). Also, is FIT open to residents & students? Has ACR verified that?

@rheum_cat @ChooseRheum If a trainee doesn't know about FIT sessions their PD is doing a bad job. Our handbook and first day check off list has ACR registration as top thing. It also has a list of apps to download, listservs to join, etc.

Improvements for #ACR24: How can we make sure more trainees are aware of sessions like FIT and @ChooseRheum #RheumRookies?

@petercgrayson +1! Also, especially for first time attendees like me, it's actually at the end of the conference that I feel most excited to socialize. At first, I barely knew anyone or had any context for networking chats. Would love a social event at the end to chat with favorite speakers!

@EBRheum @RheumNow I can’t read details on slide: did they preclude active RA tx in patients on nintedinib? I’ve viewed it as ‘treat RA with RA meds’, and if ILD progressing (key pt, because most does not) then consider antifibrotic add on. Even in SSc additive benefit wasn’t gamechanging.

I continue to be underwhelmed by nintedanib, esp in RA-ILD Data from INBUILD-ON, f/u study to the INBUILD basket trial Persistent loss of FVC... wonder how pts would have done had they received an RA-active DMARD? Need H2H vs TNFs & real DMARDs @RheumNow #ACR23 Abstr 2158

@benjaminsutu @joannamarco @EBRheum @RheumNow Agree. Some guidelines should be viewed as suggestions and not a cookbook. Important trainees understand the diff, as this is the norm. Example: is data good for steroid inj in OA? No. But cheaper than HA so no one was up in arms that it was OK per ACR while HA was not.

Q&A from RA-ILD Guidelines Presentation: Q: "Why was AZA recommended but ABA was not?" A: "The evidence was not as good for it so it was not included" Can anyone explain this to me? Where is this amazing data for AZA in RA-ILD? @RheumNow #ACR23
