The biggest thing I learned though, was trusting in the worlds and characters I craft. Trusting the reader sees the things I do and that other people can fall in love with the characters in the exact same way I've fallen in love with them.

There are 3 things 17yo Grey knows for sure.
1. Coming to LA for the summer with his now ex-boyfriend was a terrible idea.
2. Starting the summer with a hookup was also a *terrible* idea.
3. Getting said hookup to agree to a revenge summer fling is … actually a great idea?!

@Dodgers This is shameful and absolutely pathetic that you’d cave. If you actually cared about LGBTQ+, people this wouldn’t have even been a consideration.
The fact it is, shows it’s always been about false unity, and you’ve never actually cared about being inclusive or the community.

@elizmanderson I loveee this thread! When I was in college a writing professor told me my novel was head-hopping and it needed to be entirely re-written to be one PoV, and when I asked about omniscient I was told it wasn't a thing anymore, and I'd never get published with it. Vindication!

@AmandaWoody_ I'm commenting to defend as a black queer person who followed all of this drama. Things can always be handled better in retrospect, but I saw those tweets AND their behavior, and you were not NEARLY as much in the wrong as your apology comes off.
