@Kelly_Isenogle I am crying. I’d say our success rate for getting families to use the correct entrance/exit that day was 100% thanks to that Amazon purchase.
Throwback to when we dressed up as cones for arrival and dismissal. @JLazechko always knew how to turn the mundane into fun.
May this embarrassing photo bring you as much joy as it did many students and families!
I'm proud of my girls. L was selected for the Avid Program at school for next year, and M was selected for Trusty Husky for this month. Way to go girls!
Why yes, I’ll take a VIP seat to the PBS Showdown. I love that our #TrustyHuskies can use their @ClassDojo points to purchase different levels of entry to the show. How fun is that?! @HOMRPDC#CPSbest
The weeks in between Thanksgiving & Winter Break are some of my faves and here’s why: Winter Games.
Everyday we pause what we’re doing and play a short game, challenge or craft. It gives all of us (including me) a little something to look forward to during these crazy few weeks.
Read this recently & resonated with me as a teacher & human being:
What if instead of embracing the messages to “finish strong!” & get your to do list done we instead saw this month as a chance to slow down & celebrate the hard work you’ve been doing all year?
When your teacher & fellow classmate are huge Packers fans but you’re a Bears fan & after weeks of trash talk your team lost in the last three seconds by missing a field goal:
Teaching 8th grade again has been such a blast. I’m really thankful for the community at New Mark, but especially these 125 Northstars🤍
(PS shoutout to @fairchildthings for the idea a few years back - I’m still obsessed).
I also *half jokingly* told the kids to dress in all black/ camo for our final spy mission yesterday & the first thing these girls did when they came into class today was show me their outfits🥹
These Northstars are officially done with their first SS unit & there’s no better way to celebrate all their hard work than with a final spy mission! 😎
So thankful to be recognized by my AHL admin as a special education learning specialist. Too many times special educators are overlooked, but Alpha Hart Lewis is not one to do that. Love my school and love my people 🥰💗@A_MinearAHL@AHLHuskies
Our field trip to Worlds of Fun was a fan fave! Students rotated between stations where they learned about the behind the scenes of an amusement park & haunted house.
PS - I only screamed on the rollercoaster & definitely not going through the haunted house with the lights on.
Went on a sensory walk today in ELA to generate ideas for our writing. We have such beautiful grounds at NMMS (and it was a fun excuse to visit the ducks).
It was a B-E-A-utiful day outside… so naturally we spent it interviewing our partners in ELA for our upcoming visual biography project. Excited to see the final products and learn more about this crew.
