The human body runs on SUN time — not shopping time.
End the clock changes if you want.

It’s imperative that we revert to STANDARD, not Daylight time, for two reasons, one of which you may have never considered. You know the first: solar noon is closest to 12 o’clock all year. That means an equal number of hours before and after noon each day. This also means earlier sunrises which are significantly better for establishing a healthy circadian rhythm. The second reason is that nearly ONE THIRD of US counties are in the wrong timezone. A significant swath of the country isn’t only an artificial hour ahead because of daylight time… but TWO HOURS ahead of true solar time. Year-round daylight time, especially without recalibrating time zones, would establish this error permanently, affecting millions of Americans. We should be letting the Sun dictate the day the way God made it. Arbitrary, artificial tampering would be worse for us all. Fix the time zones and affix standard time.

I definitely get it. The preference of whether you want children going to school at 715 in daylight or dark is the issue. When they tried permanent daylight savings time in Florida we had at least 4 children killed because it was dark in the morning. It was deems a failure and reverse. If you've tried something in the past that didn't work, why would you try the exact same thing again? Isn't that the definition of insanity?
Since we've tried permanent daylight savings time, why not try the other...which by the way is what it was before government started f'cking with time...like they don't have more important things to do. My vote is to just start repealing every dumb thing congress has f'd with for the last 100 years and go back to their original constitutional duties which has ZERO to do with messing with clocks.

People are not getting this. In January, most of the country gets roughly 9–10 hours of daylight no matter what we call the clock. Example: STANDARD TIME: ☀️ Sunrise: ~7:15 AM 🌅 Sunset: ~5:00 PM PERMANENT DAYLIGHT SAVING TIME: ☀️ Sunrise: ~8:15 AM 🌅 Sunset: ~6:00 PM That is the SAME amount of daylight. You did not gain sunlight. You just moved the clock one hour later and created darker mornings in winter. The sun doesn’t change. The clock does

The college enrollment cliff is no longer a forecast. It is happening right now, and the damage is showing up everywhere:
Clemson is $1.5 billion in debt. Syracuse just eliminated 93 academic programs, 55 of which had zero students enrolled. UNC-Chapel Hill is cutting $89 million over three years. Duke let 600 employees go in a $350 million budget reduction. Indiana's higher education commission voted to eliminate or merge 580 degree programs across all public universities. The University of Vermont is projecting a 15% drop in its freshman class. Vermont alone has had five college closures in the last three years.
These are not small schools nobody has heard of. These are flagship state universities and elite private institutions.
The projections are brutal. High school graduates peaked at roughly 3.9 million in 2025 and will now decline steadily through 2041. A 15% drop in college-age students is expected by 2029. A worst-case scenario from a December 2024 study projects up to 80 additional college closures per year through 2029. Since 2020, more than 48 public and private colleges have already shut down.
US births peaked at 4.3 million in 2007. The birth rate dropped 4% between 2007 and 2009 and never recovered. 2026 is 18 years later. The baby bust generation just hit college age, and there are not enough of them to fill America's universities.
The American university system was built for a population that no longer exists. Tuition kept rising while the number of 18-year-olds started falling. The endowments of Harvard and Stanford will be fine. Everyone else is fighting over a shrinking pie with a cost structure designed for a world where 4.3 million babies were born every year.
That world ended in 2007. The bill just came due.
