They say they don't believe he didn't mean that word.
But they ask us to believe that after decades of education and campaigning and a MOVIE, not to mention all the information that's out there on Tourettes, this was just a racist man being racist?
It's simply not credible.

And that's ok. This isn't an easy condition to understand. And it affects a small number of people. You can't be expected to know.
But once you're told, you can do a basic check. Look it up. Or, ironically, see I Swear, which will show you.
You don't have lead with ignorance.

It's absolutely right to have enormous sympathy & regret that Jordan & Lindo had to hear that awful word & in such a public way. It surely must have been hurtful & shocking.
It's also right to acknowledge that the person who said it has a disability & it's not his fault.

Asking for more grace for the person who shouted a racist slur instead of for Michael B. Jordan and Delroy Lindo, who had to push through being embarrassed in front of their peers. But that’s often the expectation — that Black people are just supposed to be ok with being disrespected and dehumanized so that other people don’t feel bad.
