@JMahr04 @Chris_H_Politic Yes but the electorate last night had a higher percentage of democrats turn out than back in November. Thats what offset mejias slight slippage amongst independent voters and had her overperform. This seat typically has a D+10 electorate but it was D+20 last night.

@mtmanjaro10 That's the most simplistic way to look at it. If we're honest, the electorate was D +20 and their result was +20, meaning that the independents split 50/50. Every Democrat who ran had won against the independents +20. It's the worst result in a special election due to persuasion.

Insane people. Mejia overperformed by double digits, overperformed with Hispanics (Biden, Harris, and Sherrill) and swung the district left. You got dummies like this guy saying she underperformed cause of *checks notes* endorsements. 🤦‍♂️

Dems turn in a pretty weak +12 overperformance over Harris turnout in NJ-11. Given the turnout edge, it seems Mejia didn't do well in persuasion. This is v unsurprising to me. Check out her endorsements from the primary. I've underlined the ones that are negative signals.
