Quick update… currently serving as the interim preaching & teaching pastor at Dalewood Baptist Church in East Nashville. I’ve been there since the start of 2025 as the next step in my calling and residency. Would love to see any of you join on a Sun at 10 to worship with us!

I lost my Best Man last night…the perfect example of what a godly man, husband, and father could be. Everything good about me came from Jesus… and so much of it the Spirit showed and taught me through dad’s life. He is now home with our Lord. Love you dad… my brother in Christ

Clara Grace has met her sister… and the Lord has blessed us with another daughter. So grateful for His grace and love anew every morning. Welcome Ivy Beth… born 2:22 AM Thursday.

We can’t wait to meet you in March… The Lord has blessed us with the chance to expand our family again and help teach and reflect His wondrous love anew… and has blessed Clara Grace with a brother or sister… we are so thankful as we begin 2024. Great is thy faithfulness…

11.) The spiritual warfare only grows… I need your support in prayer, that my heart would continue to soften for the lost and that my own pride and ego would continue to fade so that only Christ could be visible in how I love my neighbor. I still have a lot of decreasing to do.

10.) So, to get to an end point here… what I am not is who I hope to be, but thankfully not who I used to be either. What I ask is that you pray for me and my family…that my heart would be in a posture to grow the fruits of the Spirit and that the Lord would guide my every step

9.) I taught two life group classes this last few months, and I felt at home. In a way I never have before. Like I’m finally where I’m supposed to be. My ministry call was affirmed internally and externally, and I am grateful to everyone who is and has been a part of this journey

8.) I am serving as a Connections Ministry Intern at Brentwood Baptist Church, and just finished my first full semester, along with prior summer classes, as the Holy Spirit leads me towards an MDiv in Preaching and Pastoral Ministry at @SEBTS.

7.) And that is as a husband and father first… & a full time seminary student at Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary. In May, I felt an unmistakable call to preaching, teaching, and pastoral ministry. On the same day I felt it break through my own heart, my wife felt it…

6.) Someday I will have opportunity to tell this complete story in more detail, as it has become the unexpected portion of my testimony. Just as the Old Testament pointed to and found its complete fulfillment in Jesus, the events of my life quietly pointed to where I am today…

5.) Mere days later, the Lord revealed to me that essentially my entire adult life, beginning when I was around 17… He had been working all to the good in my life in order to put me in a place where I could hear only His voice. Where He had my full attention.

4.) I prayed for answers and fully surrendered to the Lord. “I will do anything, God… whatever you ask, I just want to live for your glory, and I want to understand what that desire means. I don’t know where to go. I don’t know what to do anymore. I am yours.”

3.) So much of who I was becoming… was not reflective of who the Lord was growing me to be. I had taken some steps back in 2021 and 2022. My language and my attitude in general were negative, needlessly combative, and I was off the path. I had to walk through fire to notice it.

2.) It has been super challenging over this stretch in so many ways. It was a true wilderness season, with no clue where God wanted me to be and what direction I should walk. The only thing I knew was He was there… and that light stayed with me in the darkness.

(1.) I’ve run into some old friends or talked with some people recently, more reconnection than anything… and it dawned on me I have been virtually silent in many ways for the past few years. But I wanted to let you know what has happened in my life.
