It was a pleasure to meet with the team at Guru Nanak Food Bank in Delta ahead of their closing ceremony and recognize the incredible impact they’ve had in the community. Looking forward to the opening of their new location and their continued work supporting those in need.

I am so pleased the Westham Island bridge re-opened today. We celebrated with a tractor parade. Thank you to @TransLink, the @CityofDelta, @JMcknightDelta @IanPatonDelta, Delta Council, Mad Props Marine, and all those who helped during this difficult time. Westham Island residents and businesses - thank you for your patience while we worked on getting this fixed. Last June, we announced our plan to transform Canada’s defence. A plan to protect Canadians — and achieve the NATO 2% target, half a decade ahead of schedule. Today, we met that target.

In Iqaluit, 46 new public housing units are underway, alongside a broader effort to deliver up to 750 homes across the territory through Build Canada Homes. Step by step, this is how we expand access to housing that meets the needs of Nunavummiut; for today, and for generations to come.

Bâtir des communautés fortes partout au Nunavut commence par s’assurer que chaque famille a un chez-soi. À Iqaluit, 46 nouveaux logements publics sont en cours, dans le cadre d’un effort plus large de Maisons Canada pour livrer jusqu’à 750 logements partout sur le territoire. Étape par étape, c’est comme ça qu’on élargit l’accès à des logements qui répondent aux besoins des Nunavummiut, aujourd’hui comme pour les générations à venir.

It was a pleasure visiting Heart to Home Meals in Delta. Their work delivering nutritious meals directly to people’s homes helps support independence, dignity, and access to reliable food in our community. Thank you to the team for the warm welcome and the important work you do.

It was a privilege to visit the Veterans Affairs Canada offices in Vancouver and Surrey today. The dedication, professionalism, and empathy of case managers and veteran service agents is truly inspiring. Thank you to all VAC staff for everything you do for our Veterans.

A visit to UAPICBC showed the future of Canada’s skilled trades is strong. They’re training the next generation through hands-on learning and Red Seal pathways. As Canada advances its Defence Industrial Strategy, this workforce will be essential to building #CanadaStrong.

When law enforcement told us what they needed—we listened. Today I met with local leaders and police to discuss measures in Bill C-22. Canada is the only Five Eyes country without lawful access laws. It’s time to give police the tools to keep Canadians safe.

Operation FRICTION remains a defining moment in our Armed Forces’ story, its impact still felt 35 years later. I was honoured to join today’s wreath‑laying at the National War Memorial and attend a special documentary screening at the Canadian War Museum. Their legacy endures.
