E-waste is the fastest growing source of waste in the world right now. To decrease the amount of E-waste that I contribute, I use devices with batteries that can be recharged up to one thousand times. #apeswaste @franklinlorax

Basements are a part of nearly every house in our area. Due to high levels of radon resulting from the breakdown of natural uranium, this used to be a huge risk for lung cancer. @franklinlorax #apesair

A contributor to air pollution is gasoline. It releases vapors and toxins into the air. Burning gasoline produces carbon dioxide which is a greenhouse gas.#apesair @franklinlorax

Quarantine has caused us all to stop using our vehicles less which has led to less emissions and anthropogenic gases which is great for the environment! Although quarantine has been bad, trying to continue these practices into the future could be great. #apesair @franklinlorax

The vapors given off when gas evaporates (carbon monoxide, nitrogen oxides, particulate matter, and unburned hydrocarbons) contribute to air pollution. Burning gasoline also produces carbon dioxide, a greenhouse gas. #apesair @franklinlorax

@StauberNick @franklinlorax PS4’s use about 5 cents of energy per hour of gaming. This seems very cheap but actually classifies it as something that uses a lot of energy!

During this coronacation I have been consuming more energy than normal by playing PS4 in my free time. Energy provided by a coal power plant is what runs my TV and console. @franklinlorax #apesenergy

While being at home, I have spent lots of time using things like my phone, computer, headphones, and calculator. When these devices need to charge, they get energy that is created by the coal power plant! Very cool stuff @franklinlorax #apesenergy

@JKojicAPES @franklinlorax It is also important to know which logging style best suits the type of trees being cut down in order to make sure that we can log sustainably

Just to make the products in my kitchen, logging must occur in order to have hardwood floors and cabinets, while the granite countertop is an igneous rock formed when magma cools! @franklinlorax #apesland

A few years ago I was able to visit the Hawaiian islands. During this land unit I learned that the Hawaiian islands were formed by a hot spot occurring in the middle of the Pacific Plate, and that each island is successively older toward the northwest. @franklinlorax #apesland

After taking the ecological footprint quiz I found that it would take 3.9 earths to support me. However after making changes to my lifestyle I cut it down to 2.4 earths. If we all take the initiative to change we could make earth a much better place!@franklinlorax #apespop
