Two projected FRPs returning to college due (mostly) to the influx of NIL The 30th pick in the 2026 NBA Draft is projected to make ~$2.95M in Year 1, meaning it’s safe to assume both players will receive well over $3M

Mullins and Ngongba II both returning has to be unprecedented, right?

This is the first time in a few years that a projected top-25 pick that was almost certain to go in that range has decided to return to school. And I don't think Mullins will be the last one this year, either. Big time sign of the financial windfall for CBB players right now.

Impact of NIL on the 2025 NBA Draft: 22 college players were taken in the 2nd round. Of those 22, only 3 players were not seniors or graduate students. Those three players were Fleming, Thiero, and Proctor--all three signed contracts with at least the first 2 yrs guaranteed.

Then the article goes on to discuss the Productive Junior Query: 63.2% (24/38) of juniors who met the criteria played 5+ years in the NBA or are currently in the league. (Only player to end up meeting the criteria this season was Aday Mara, for context) si.com/nba/draft/news…

…In order to decrease the level of uncertainty, especially for a second round that will likely be filled with mostly older prospects, it has become increasingly popular to design statistical queries to identify NBA talent.”
