Ferrari were doing something odd at the safety car restart.
Clutch disengaged, revs up, then launches into it. Standing start procedure almost. I suppose it's only doable when you are leading the restart.

@cantverstopim He is not braking for the corners, but rather cutting them to make up time. That is a penalty. Any half decent driver knows to slow down extra when you have damage, and some drivers use this as a way to leverage extra time by cutting corners

@CandySwanwicks @Stallion3224 @F1 I'm assuming you've never raced a car before. If your steering is broken you need to slow down extra for the corners. If you don't slow down extra, you cut them. This gains you time. This is a penalty

@F1 To all the dts troglodytes, he could just slow down and make the corner. He chose to cut corners so he wouldn’t lose time with his damage. Thats the reason for the penalty. Personally I wouldn’t care if I was the steward since he lost positions to Russel and Verstappen anyway.
